Ajax Waterfront Park is truly a gem along Lake Ontario. The park offers stunning, expansive views of the lake, and on clear days, you can even spot the CN Tower on the horizon — a beautiful touch that adds to the already picturesque scenery.
The park itself is exceptionally well-maintained, peaceful, and tranquil, making it the perfect spot for walking, running, biking, or simply relaxing. It’s ideal for individuals, couples, families, children, and groups of friends. There’s an abundance of green space, making it a fantastic place to enjoy a picnic during the warmer months. You’ll also find plenty of seating areas and scenic lookout points to pause and take in the views. The sounds of birds and nature throughout the park add to the calming atmosphere, and it’s a dog-friendly location (as long as pets are kept on a leash).
Facilities are excellent as well — the washrooms are clean and accessible, and there are plenty of garbage bins to help keep the park tidy. The locals are very kind and friendly, which enhances the welcoming vibe of the entire area.
One thing to note: during certain seasons (especially spring and early summer), you might encounter black flies or bugs. We saw some visitors wearing netted hats for protection — a very smart idea! We also spotted a small snake during our walk; while it was harmless, it’s something to be mindful of if you’re squeamish about wildlife.
From May 15 to September 15, non-Ajax residents are required to pay for parking ($10 for three hours or $20 for the full day between 8:30 AM and 9:00 PM). I personally find this very fair, as local residents pay taxes that help maintain the park year-round.
Overall, Ajax Waterfront Park is a beautiful, well-kept, and peaceful place to spend time outdoors. Whether you’re out for exercise, a casual stroll, a family outing, or simply a moment of solitude by the water, I highly...

Long walk/Bike trails that go on forever! Right along the Water. Several little areas where you can go right down to the water. Many bench’s for sitting and enjoying views. Large grass lands, for picnics, Flying Kites, BBQ’s (check if permit is required) Bridges, Look out points, Sandy areas (near large bridge by kids water park-under the bridge)and little beach areas. I have posted other pictures from other areas of this Waterfront however these pics are where the Veterans Memorial is.
The Memorial is right at the end of Harwood in Ajax, (South).
Always a beautiful time here but at specific times those little black tiny flying bugs can be a real nuisance lol
Nice little piece of History right here.
Waterfront is clean, people are friendly and respectful. There is an available washroom to use by one of the bigger parking lots.
If you cannot find parking in one of the little parking lots, just drive down until you find another parking lot as there are a few along the same street that all have access to the same path. You can even access the path by turning down Shoal point Road along Baley, just keep driving down to the end and you’ll start to see little sections of available parking places, however at the end of Harwood where you turn right, that is where you will find the most available...
Read moreIt's a great place to walk along the waterfront park and the trail system is fast with everyone doing their thing. I like there especially in the summer months. I recommend that more water fountains to be installed along the trail for better hydration.
It's still a good place for Nature and recreational purposes however, I witnessed an unpleasant situation at the parking lot on Saturday July 28, 2018 during my departure from the park. One dog was on the leash barking violently and the male owner was restraining that dog not to attack people. I was very terrified and I'm sure other people were as well. I even noticed one person running away from the scene. Given the nature of this place where people gather and walk around with children, I believe something needs to be done regarding violent dogs and perhaps, create a space for dogs. It's my hope that the park will continue to be safe and accessible to everyone who enjoys...
