Rotary Park: A Neighborhood Gem As a long-time resident of Ajax, Rotary Park has been a cherished part of my community for over two decades. This tranquil oasis, nestled amidst the bustling town, offers a serene escape for nature lovers and families alike. One of the park's greatest attributes is its accessibility. Located right in the heart of our neighborhood, it's a convenient spot for daily walks with my wife and dog. The well-maintained paths are perfect for leisurely strolls, and the park's ample greenery provides a refreshing change of scenery. The park's playground is a popular attraction for local families, offering a variety of age-appropriate equipment to keep children entertained. The picnic tables and benches provide a comfortable space to relax and enjoy a meal or simply soak up the sunshine. Rotary Park also hosts various community events throughout the year, fostering a sense of togetherness among residents. From outdoor concerts to farmers markets, there's always something happening to bring the community together. In conclusion, Rotary Park is an invaluable asset to our neighborhood. Its beauty, accessibility, and community-focused atmosphere make it a must-visit destination for anyone living in or...

Its an OK spot for just relaxing in the summer weather, there is a canoe/ kayak launch area, small space for fishing, paddling opportunities up the creek, lots of wildlife at certain times. There is a splash pad for the kids, a play park for tots and one for bigger kids and not to forget, there's miles and miles of the lakefront trail which leads towards Whitby and beyond in the east and to the west it goes to Pickering and beyond in the west. The trail is paved and good for strolling, walking, jogging, cycling or just exploring. It can be at bit busy so walk/ ride with caution and observe staying on the appropriate side of the walking path. It's not a bad place, but improvements can and should be made at the pavilion to its washroom facilities. The volume of people that flock here in the summer months the washroom facilities needs to be upgraded to accommodate more people, make it accessible to all, there needs to be a wheelchair ramp to access the male washrooms, the washrooms should open later in the summer months and stay open throughout the year, not just seasonal. Paid parking is in effect on certain days but free on other days of the week so be sure to read the...

A beautiful park right on the water (Lake Ontario) with a big splash pad, playground, trails, indoor space with washrooms (for rent), fields, and snack bar.

The splash pad and playground are a nice size and will provide hours of entertainment. If you don’t have access to the indoor space, which is great for parties, there are many spots for a relaxing picnic or a game of badminton, catch, football, etc. There are smaller spaces near the water and large, wide open fields on the north side for big groups. Trails wind their way through the park so you will find people cycling, rollerblading, and jogging.

The view of Lake Ontario is breathtaking and there is a little worn path that will lead you right to the water’s edge (not recommended as this can be dangerous if the water level is high).

The splash pad isn’t the best one I have ever seen but it will keep you cool on a hot summer day. The indoor space is bright, open, and airy but the washrooms could be cleaner.

Parking can be a challenge. Arrive early or be prepared to park along the road and the walk 5-7 minutes into the park.

All in all, this is a fantastic place for a fun family outing. Well...

Review of Rotary Park and the Waterfront Trail nearby. It's a beautiful place, but a bit spoiled by a few things. 1. Littering. Not just a little. See pictures. WHAT ON EARTH IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE? 2. Bizarrely, the Town recently decided to remove most garbage bins from this and other parks. This makes no difference to people who will litter anyway, but is a nuisance for those who want to use a bin. 3. A few cyclists.. No, most of them... can't read the signs that say please walk your bike across the bridge. 4. I understand the need to take steps to deal with diseased ash trees but the answer surely is not to fell trees and leave them lying to rot. Large areas look like they have been shelled. On the positive side: most people are friendly and polite, especially the volunteers who do their best with the litter; other than issues listed above the park seems well maintained; washrooms are clean; white-tailed deer, rabbits, chipmunks, woodpeckers, warblers, finches, chickadees, swans, ducks, geese, herons, egrets, terns... Couple of better scenes attached as well.
