The park was clean, the people friendly, and the setting along the Bow River was absolutely majestic! The site itself was fairly private and it came with a picnic table & firepit, with wood available for purchase. Services could be improved with updated electrical, as 15amp is just too antiquated for most families to run a modern RV on. Laundry facilities are standard in most campgrounds, but were non-existent at this park. Shower facilities were adequate enough, but the notion of putting prepaid tokens into a machine to run the shower is again not really keeping with the times. People want what they pay for. We paid good money and had to book weeks in advance for a government owned and profitable facility that isn't really keeping up with modern standards. We may not bother with provincially owned...

This park has multiple campgrounds. We stayed at Lac Des Arcs campground. It is located very close to Hwy 1 near Canmore, Alberta Canada. This campground is located in grass land with a few trees. The campsites are basically mowed circles in the grass with bumpy dirt tracks. The campground road is grass and sand and generally poorly maintained. The sani-sump is located in the main park entrance a short drive from this campground. The water pump in the campground has untreated water not suitable for drinking or cooking. Beach area is muddy and looks polluted with brown foam and scum on the water. There is a nice playground and a small boat launch. This park is too close to the Hwy allowing for road noise in the campsites. Other campgrounds in this park...

Honestly, Almost everything/everywhere in Kananaskis or Bow Valley etc... are 5 stars. Beautiful landscape 360°.

Doesn't matter how many times I drive, walk, ride, hike, paddle, run, through the area... it never gets old and it's always breathtaking. Period.

Banff, Canmore, Kananaskis, Lake Louise, Jasper, and surrounding areas etc... all bucket list places.

Enjoy. You won't regret it. 😁👍

** Thank you very much for reading my reviews. I try to review and rate places with as much detail and honesty as possible based on my experiences and opinions.

This place is very close to Canmore. Again a beautiful city. Banff is just too hyped up. If you want to enjoy nature in quite, this is the place. Not too many tourists and amazing view. I liked it better than Lake Louise, it is just too crowded. You may encounter mountain goats and bears on your way. This area is still under construction for roads. Be prepared to drive not so smooth road. This road also leads to Grassi lake (again amazing views and quiet untouched nature/ conservative park). Bow valley park is good for paddle boating. Enjoy all the nature to yourself. I will definitely recommend to experience this.
