Calaway Park is a great little family spot whether you have toddlers or teens. The lines are very reasonable, the prices for a season pass on Black Friday or in May are usually phenomenal, and there is a great variety of rides for every thrill level (I lovr that the ride signs have the thrill level listed). Things I love are that the staff are super attentive to safety from making sure kids are safe heights to double checking buckles are done up. Some staff are clearly bored and going through the motions while others such as Remmy are authentically friendly and kind. My son loves the bumper cars and my daughter loves the log ride (which usually has a fairly long line compared to other rides). The food choices are pretty awful and food prices are high, if you are looking for healthy options there are virtually none and the processed food they do have is comparable to cardboard in my opinion. It is definitely overpriced for snacks but you can bring your own cooler which is a major plus. There are a ton of shady areas and it feels more immersed in nature than other theme parks. This last visit on July 20th Samira, Muskaan, Ryan, Jordan, Gabriel and Remmy seriously made our visit a blast. They were extremely friendly, joking with the customers, and all thoroughly looked to be having fun working and enjoying their jobs. Gabriel offered to help me out of the log ride, Samira helped me with tips to keep my purse dry, Muskaan was so friendly at the log ride entrance, Ryan was a blast throwing jokes and engaging customers with his smile, and Jordan was diligently cleaning up and helping his colleagues. The girl with blonde hair and a pink shirt at the top of the log ride was super friendly and engaging too. We were greeted by Naghat when we arrived and left and she was warm and welcoming each time amd it means a lot when the front gate person sets the tone for the visit. Parking was easy, there was a ton of spots to sit and rest on a hot day, and walking from place to place was quick and convenient. Well laid out park with safety focused staff.

A staple of fun and excitement for kids of all ages, just outside Calgary. Plan to spend the day in fairly short queues, unless you want to ride the Vortex, Storm, or Log Ride. Then plan on 45+ minutes on a busy day. Magic shows and other entertainment is available to watch on the main stage just next to the Vortex rollercoaster. Lots of food choices, but fairly expensive. Feel free to bring your own food and beverages. Highly recommend. Oct 1. 2022 update: Beautiful day at the Park. Tempted to dock a star due to parking. New today was staff directing traffic for parking. What was missing was staff directing traffic at close and swarms of people were leaving out the only exit. Do better Calaway! Aug 28, 2023 Update: Another fun day at Calaway. The new face-lift of the shops on Mainstreet is a breath of fresh air. The Flinstones motif is prehistoric, so good to see it going. Need to reduce the price of the Hambourghini, $22 for a hamburger is too steep, though the name is great. More benches wouldn't hurt either. Love the Vortex Rollercoaster, though it is a shame they can't seem to have two coasters running to reduce the line up wait time. The new Riptide ride was fun if a little anticlimactic; the boats should splash way more water on the onlooking crowd to make it way more enjoyable. Another 11am to 7pm day on the books. Still highly recommend.

UPDATE 2: 12 trips this season. The season pass was totally worth it! UPDATE: Another season begins, and my kids are super excited. We managed to go on some classic rides today before the rain started coming down. Feels just like the good ol' days. We have held season passes since my oldest was 2 on the advice of another parent friend. As she pointed out to us, it is totally worth it. This is so true, and I advise anyone who asks to get season passes, especially during november when they are sold at their cheapest at COOP. The rides are great for little ones. It seems to gear towards that crowd more, but I have seen plenty of teens at Calaway Park having a blast. I'm sure they just stick to the bigger rides. We are not too far away, so we usually go on a weekday. Weekends are busier but not terrible unless it's a long weekend. Weekdays are the best as there are no lines, and often, you can stay for another round if you ask. Food is fair for amusement park. They aren't the best but are good enough. I found prices way more reasonable than Stampede or Vancouver Playland. My kids love this place, and I'm sure any kid would.

Fun place for families. It’s usually very busy, but the staff are well-trained and friendly. And there’s something for everyone to enjoy. I’ve been going to Calaway since I was a kid (20+ years). And some things have changed but not much - in a good way. Yes some of the decor and fixtures need renovating but it also gives it a nostalgic feeling. There are food vendors everywhere and not extremely over priced. Some of them can be slow because they get busy but you can walk around the park to find another vendor with the same items. There are shows, a splash park (amazing for when it’s super hot out), games, rides of course, and lots of shaded areas to take a break/eat. I’d say a majority of the rides are geared towards 4-12 year old kids. I’d recommend getting early bird season’s passes if you plan on visiting multiple times. Otherwise get discounted day passes on their website ($39) or at co-op stores ($37). Bring a wagon, lots of water/drinks, snacks, cash for games, sunscreen, hats, and an umbrella. Most importantly be patient as you may have to wait in lots of lines, but also be kind to the kids working.

Calaway Park is pretty amazing! The day we went it wasn’t busy, but it wasn’t slow that’s for sure. There staff are usually really good and didn’t disappoint again! The cost to get in was pretty high but you get access to slot of different types of events geared towards different ages of children. Parking is free though. We love the log ride the most and have made it an annual trip due to the fear displayed in the children’s faces in the photos taken during the ride lol. Some if the rides kept breaking down and needed to be closed temporarily but they got the problems solved quickly too. The food is as expected with a a carnival like atmosphere and a bit pricey too. I guess everything gets more expensive when your in a venue like this. The locations is just down the road from the Spring bank Airport and got to watch a free air show as they practised the day before the show so that’s an added bonus! I did notice that there were more “extra” cost rides or areas that were not included in the expensive admission Prices so watch out for those!
