Don’t think twice, just get the tickets! Exciting, fun, and no shortage of things to do and see here. The space is well planned out with something different to do on every corner alongside beautiful seasonal decorations and mountain views. Lots of laughs for the whole family. So much of this park is toddler and kid friendly. Brings out the kid side in the adult and really allows you to make some core memories with your kids.
There are petting zoo sections with bunnies and goats, multiple slides and playgrounds, a humongous corn maze, multiple train rides, themed sections like “little cow town”, a zip line, pig racing (kids sit on a big pink metal pig), bouncing “pillows”, carnival basketball and skee ball, chalk truck , sound garden, a tire “mountain”, and so much more.
This location also has the cleanest and well maintained porta potties I’ve ever seen. The staff is so nice. Lots of gravel parking. Kids 2 and under are free. Pre booking online was about $25 a person, $4 more at the gate. Great time to go during the week on a Friday before the busyness of the weekend. Could easily spend all day here (we got the 930-5 tickets).
As for the cons, I think the only ones are that it’s a little harder to push wagons and strollers in some areas because of the amount of rocks there are, and the fact that the kids aren’t going to want to leave here when it’s...
Read moreFor the past few months, we've been waiting for the opening day since we purchased the season pass. But my daughter and I were very disappointed with the Pony Rides here today and my daughter was deeply sad due to the very hardly understandable operation.
Us, my friend and her daughter went to Pony Rides together. As soon as my daughter got on the Pony, I was asked how old she was and I answered 2. We were informed that under 3 yo children were only allowed photos without riding. Although my daughter is turning 3 in 2 weeks and actually much taller than any other 3 yo girls but she's yet 2 years old obviously, we followed the instructions for sure.
However! You know ???? My friend's daughter who just turned 2.5 yo was allowed to ride!!! Excuse me??? My poor girl went nuts when she saw it!!
I'm not complaining about my daughter not riding. I'm talking about the unclear rules. When I asked about this to one of the staff, she said as their insurance only covers for 3 years old or above so that NO ONE who is under 3 has ridden. But unfortunately YES, SOMEONE has. I don't think this happened just by one kid's luck. You guys were super lucky today that my friend's daughter finished her ride nice and safe.
I don't know if we would go again for Pony Rides as it seemed one of the special activities, but anyway we'll barely forget this...
Read moreWe spent the majority of the day at the Calgary Farmyard with our two kids and we all had an amazing time. There's a lot to see and do that'll keep the kids busy for hours. All the different activities and games were a blast, as was visiting all the different animals. There's also a decent amount of seating available for parents to sit and watch their children if they choose not to participate themselves. We ended up ordering some food for lunch while we were there. It wasn't astronomically expensive, but the portions definitely seemed large, so I would suggest ordering less unless you plan on hauling it around with yourself.
One word of caution if you have daughters with long hair, be sure to tie it back if they decide to ride the hand pedal rail cars. The reason I'm saying this is because I had to help a family whose daughter got their hair tangled up between the hand pedal and the screw/nut that attaches the hand pedal to the crank. In the end the father ended up having to cut the hair that we couldn't get dislodged. This was a pretty tramatic experience for the little girl, but she was fine.
The Calgary Farmyard is high on our list of outdoor activities and experiences for our children and we'll be sure to return...
