Cameron Lake was beautiful in the early morning when the water was calm and you could see the amazing mountain reflections! It can get busy in the late morning and afternoon, which detracts from the natural beauty here. You can rent kayaks/boats from the shoreline to explore the lake and there is a small store with souvenir items, drinks, etc. I came here to start the Carthew-Alderson Trail via the hiker shuttle through Tamarack on August 29, 2025. We arrived around 8:30 am and there was nobody else at the lake. This was the best time to see the beauty here!

Me and my better-half, both 68 , ventured in to this little adventure while on way back to Waterton lake from Cameron lake. It is not a very difficult hike even for this age provided you have walking shoes and sticks. We tried sans both and still were ok. The views on the way are enticing and track is mix of smooth and a bit rough. If it is raining, you may find it bit slippery. The view at lake and beach is splendid. Don’t forget to keep your bear sprays ready and handy specifically in berry season. Otherwise, SING ALOUD!! HAPPY TRACKING

Breathe taking views! Clear clean water and excellent rentals for the lake. We visited Cameron Lake on a suggestion from a friend who visited this lake earlier this year. So happy we went! We brought a picnic and our chairs and relaxed in the shade of a tall pine tree. Our son rented a paddleboard for an hour for $30 and was well worth every penny. He and his girlfriend paddled all around the lake. Life vests came with the rental. We would go again and explore.

Fantastic view, would of been 5 stars but tons of ticks there, sat down for literally 30 seconds and shorts and back of shirt probably had a dozen me, won't of mined so much if there was a sign up somewhere notifying people of these buggers. Spent my time in the bush so not a huge deal but people had their dogs and little kids out and once we informed them they started to notice them on there pets their kids and themselves. Went into town to the visitor center to grab some souvenirs and mention to the fellow, didn't seem to concerned said there was a flash memo on it but that doesn't help to alert the public to them, just a small handwritten sign would of done but there was nothing and the parks department was aware because the young fella said they were bad up there so just a little heads up would of been appreciated so people could of taken their own...
