We recently visited with my family during Thanksgiving, excited for what we hoped would be a fun day at the farm. Unfortunately, our experience was far from enjoyable, leaving us disappointed and frustrated.
Upon arrival, we were met with a rather unwelcoming atmosphere. The ticket booth was staffed by a grumpy lady who didn’t acknowledge our greetings. When we inquired about a family rate, she bluntly declined, explaining that all tickets, regardless of age, cost the same.(unless you’re 2 and under) We paid a hefty $108 for two adults and two children, hoping it would be worth it.
Once inside, our initial excitement quickly turned to dismay. The farm felt poorly maintained, with decorations sloppily arranged, leaving us with a sense of sadness. The big slide looked unsafe, and the children were hesitant to try it. The inflatable attractions were deflated and out of order, adding to the disappointing ambiance. It was clear that the displays were put together without much thought, making the entire experience feel lackluster.
We were eager to see the animals, but upon our arrival at the petting area, the animals appeared tired and unwell. We were informed that many animals were not out due to the cooler weather, which we understood, yet it made us question why we had to pay full price for such limited access.
Things took a turn for the worse when we discovered that petting a kangaroo came with an additional fee of $20 per person. We asked if our two kids could share the experience and hold the kangaroo together, but were told no, as this place seemed more focused on milking extra money from visitors. So, we reluctantly paid $40 for our kids to have a brief encounter with the kangaroo.
After a ten-minute wait, it was finally their turn, but to our dismay, the attendant informed us that they could only hold the kangaroo for two minutes. My daughter whispered to me in confusion, wondering why they were limited to such a short time compared to others. It was disheartening to see them let down after waiting and paying extra. While the other people get the chance to hold longer than 15-20 minutes or so.
As we continued our venture, we were excited about the capybara area but met with further disappointment. The sign explicitly stated “No Entry,” yet we noticed some adults inside. When we inquired, they explained that they were allowed in because the attendant was their daughter. When we asked about a similar opportunity, the attendant stated it was another experience that would cost an additional $25 per person. We ultimately decided against it, finding the idea of paying $50 for our kids to enter completely unreasonable. Also, We felt it was fair to mention at the ticketing booth that the $108 entrance fee are not inclusive there will be additional cost or better if it was better said upfront even one of the staff agreed that it is too much. She mentioned she will brought it up to the management and hopefully they will.
Our frustrations continued as my daughter was allowed to touch the capybara from outside the fence, while the other child simply walked away feeling discouraged.
Moreover, the maze area was unsafe, with missing boards and debris littering the walking paths, The loose signs only added to the shoddy appearance of the farm, which is situated right next to a main road. It was alarming to watch as one goat got startled by a passing motorcycle, highlighting the stark reality of the location.
Reflecting on our experience, we couldn't help but feel that our money would have been better spent elsewhere. We had previously visited a larger farm where one admission fee granted us access to a wealth of activities with much better animal care.
In conclusion, our visit to this place was disappointing, frustrating, and ultimately a waste of money. The lack of care for the animals and excessive fees left us with no intention of returning. We hope this review helps others make a well-informed decision...
Read moreHad my sons birthday here at Cobb’s Adventure Park. There is so much to say with all the wonderful experiences we had. First off you need to have Claire as your host. She was AMAZING!!! She texted me throughout the week before the birthday to prepare me for the big day. Answered all my questions without any wait of reply back. She was so sweet, so extremely patient, and she went above and beyond to make the day special when she didn’t even need to. We paid to have the baby kangaroo in our tent and she ended up bringing two!!! AND she brought a bunch of sugar gliders AND at the end of the day brought in a turtle, which by then everyone was gone but us lol! How impressive is that? Throughout the day if we needed anything, we would text her and she would be right there in seconds. Some kids were getting very rough with the baby kangaroos and she was so sweet and patient with them. I also did book the tent, which is massive!!! Could easily have 100 people in there, I booked it for two hours, but I know they didn’t have a party after us there so we ended up having the tent from 11:30-5:30. That just blew my mind!!! Honestly there is so much to do there an hour goes by like nothing. So it was extremely nice having all that time having a place to store our stuff while the kids went wild. The park is so huge. The more you walk the more there was. It was never ending!!! So much to do you could easily fill a whole day just getting everything done. They provided plates, cutlery and a knife to cut the cake. At the end they gave my son a really cool birthday gift and all the kids got cotton candy including the parents. For the price point it’s a steal of a deal. Kids and parents eat. Unlimited French fries that tasted like 5 guys fries maybe even better. The food was actually surprisingly awesome. The hot dogs are huge!!! The chicken fingers are mint!! The burgers are big as well. They came in with a crate of pop and a case of water. It was so nice. Also each kid got to hold the baby kangaroos. So nice for pictures. The best part was a baby alpaca was born during our party and Claire came up with the idea to name the baby after my son. So special!!! This place will hold a special place in our hearts. Especially my son. The workers there are so kind. The man in the kangaroo area was so patient. We had over 30 people with us. Half were kids. He took his time with each child giving them food to feed the kangaroos. Also the man at the train. We had to wait another half hour for it to start but he went out of his way to find someone so we can ride it before we left. The driver was super cool too. The gift shop ladies are so sweet as well. All I can say is, I don’t know how we will plan another birthday as good as this. You won’t be disappointed. Definitely start the birthday earlier in the day, there is just so much to do there. Usually a birthday for us lasts 2-2.5 hours but we were there for almost 4.5 hours and still didn’t do everything we wanted. My son was too tired. And he definitely needed a...
Read moreI do not advise supporting this business whatsoever
I do not advise allowing your teenage children to work here even though it may seem like a great place.. it is far from it
My daughter who is just 16 years old decided to work in their field of screams this year
Her first few shifts were ok.. bu then things went terribly wrong
There was an incident that happened involving my daughter where RCMP got involved and charges have been pressed against a patron visiting while she was working
None of the staff were communicating with each other about what happened
She was left alone to resume her work rather then be brought inside to the office and have myself (mom) contacted
They did not feel the need to contact the police themselves even though something serious has occurred
The ball was seriously dropped!
One of the managers was more concerned about getting two pumpkins back in their possession that were taken by the individual then finding out his info for the police in the event he fled the scene
Absolutely disgusting!
I spoke with each manager on duty and got circles all the way around about why things were not done properly and protocol not followed
Why is a patron allowed inside either extremely intoxicated upon arrival or allowed to become extremely intoxicated while visiting
Don’t they have rules with their liquor license?
Sure have a drink but to become so wasted you don’t know where you are??? And then you commit a crime involving a minor..
What is going on here?!?!?
Their GM stated to me when I said something about mental health that kids with problems should not be working
Everyone has equal rights to a job! And working in what should be a caring environment can help that but unfortunately not this one!
I emailed the owners as a phone number was not provided to me and they are not responding
I called and phones go unanswered
From one parent to another please do not go here!
Do not support a business that does not care about the well being of their workers and that disregards crimes against their workers for the sake of making money and keeping it quiet
I am absolutely disgusted by this as a whole and will seek the top level of justice possible for what has taken place
Protect you children and choose another business to support before it happens to someone else’s child
Sincerely a mother who is...
