Beautiful campground with lots of trees and alright distance between camp neighbors. Powered sites are available, and I strongly recommend them as it is still a reasonable price. The outdoor bathrooms around the grounds are cleaned regularly, and there is a shower building with 12 showers and 8 standard toilets; male/female segregated. These facilities are cleaned regularly as well and the showers are $2 for five minutes of operation. Working showers are always a massive plus, and this campground earns it easily. The lake is a good size with a busy public beach and a boat launch. This is also a busy water sports lake, so lots of water skiing and tubing. Not so busy that we were still able to enjoy kayaking on the lake. There are a variety of birds and butterflies/moths in the area with plenty of hiking trails around the lake to take in all the natural beauty of the area. Very kid friendly, though pets are prohibited from some areas; they are fine at the camp sites. Highly recommend.

Great campground and lake for swimming, kayaking and generally playing around in. Sites are pretty well seperated and give decent privacy. Most sites are large enough to fit our 36' trailer comfortably. The campground also has laundry in the shower building for those spending extended days during the summer. The interpretive programs put on by AB Parks is lacking, this park is staffed but seemingly only for maintenace. The movie projector is broken (2018) and is going to take weeks to fix or replace, typical government bureaucracy. The voluteer host does put on some activities which is great but AB Parks could do more. This campground is almost fully booked from July to the end of August and could benefit from more support for their interpretive program. US State Parks have programs running daily in the summer.

Lost two stars for incredibly distressing reservation intake. Do not arrive without site # as this has never been a problem with Parks Canada campgrounds in my experience. When I gave the name of the reservation they declared I did not have a reservation. No attempt to problem solve by staff. Did not ask how to spell my name or licence plate number. Had to call someone who had wifi to give me my site number. After driving over two hours this was incredibly upsetting. They did apologize and I hope going forward the staff are trained in how to manage lost reservations. Some sites are close to a busy highway. Some very beautiful wooded sites. Wood for sale. Snacks and some camping basics available at shop. Lake is nice for swimming with a sandy beach that is groomed in the morning.

Beautiful little gem with a great family feel. I can’t tell you how many people I know who used to go there as kids every summer and now bring their own families. It’s a small lake, but remains calm regardless of the weather, a little chop on that lake is like every day on the big lakes in the area. Good small perch fishing, though they aren’t native to that lake. Some beautiful cabins on the lake, and a superb campground. The amphitheatre is awesome as are the shows. I also recommend the 10k trail for a nice hike. This place is a little wild with Bear and Cougar in the area every year, this is not a negative, but rather further proof it is indeed the doorstep to the Rockies. Wilderness village is nearby, a 5 star RV resort, and it is amazing, another great reason to come visit. When you see how busy that site is you realize that lots of people have figured out that something special is tucked away here.

One final note: this is nice small warm lake that never has an algae bloom. Ever. Making its shallow waters on the beach 100% ideal for little...

This place only allows one camping set up per lot whether that be a giant RV or a tiny tent. If you bring two tiny tents they will charge you for 2 lots instead of one. I guess you're supposed to come here either only with a significant other or one giant tent for the whole family/friends. Also unlike most places they charge for firewood (8$ - which they did not mention of course) and also they have showers but they're 2$, I guess its not a basic human necessity anymore (they also didn't mention that). The showers are also not 24 hours which you can overlook but again I've encountered this no where else so if you're planning on taking a shower at 10pm to circumvent the kids and parents, that is apparently not possible. I actually paid more for this place because I thought this was all included but I guess they meant its available for a price. I'd suggest you go to a place in banff; beautiful mountains and none of these problems. It's pretty...
