Great dog park. When you arrive there is a post with doggie bags provided by a local business. Then we go in and head down the main gravel trail (around 4 ft wide) and visit the central little pond where my dog loves jumping and playing in the water which is about 18 inches deep. After that we head into the forested trails which are absolutely gorgeous as you can see from the photos. You can walk a little or walk a lot as there are a few options of when to leave the forest and go back to the main trail. So good for the soul. My dog is so happy here. He explores to the sides of the forested trail which I would guess is around 3 ft wide. Then out in the main area he loves running in the big open field. There is a hill near the back which we run up and down together for some good exercise. Beautiful natural flowers and weeds growing everywhere in the field ha ha. Bring your bug spray and give yourself 30 minutes to an hour most days. Although a quick 15 minute run is easy to do too! Met many social dogs here and friendly owners. Hope you and your fur baby love this place as...

I've been going to Deer Mound Off Leash Park almost every day (sometimes more than once a day) since my dog was just a puppy, and I absolutely love it.

The park features a massive, open field with a footpath circling it, as well as numerous trails in the trees surrounding the field (some extra trails open up as the leaves begin to fall in autumn, those are fun to explore). It's open year-round and is located off Highway 21 and TWP 522 so it's relatively quiet and 'feels' more rural than urban, which I personally prefer.

I like the off leash aspect because dog's that are prone to leash-aggression can relax and you free up both hands not having to hold a leash, leaving you to simply enjoy the walk. Everybody there is a dog person and are there for the same reason so people are more understanding if dog's jump up or if people are training their new pups. It's an awesome way to socialize your dog as well as meet new people, if you want to.

Honestly, nothing beats a sunny morning, walking the trails, with Tim's...

We've been going to this park for 10+ years. It's a HUGE space, with unmaintained forest trails, as well as a gravel path around the field. Renos last year expanded the parking lot, added a fenced off smaller dog area inside the field, as well as fencing off a small pond/marsh. Lots of squirrels and wildlife.

Deermound does get VERY wet in the spring and when rainfall has been heavy. Definitely bring towels, and plan for a bath afterwards. There are no bathrooms on site, only 1 porta-potty.

My ONLY reason for 3 star review is that the fencing in the forest and backing on to the subdivision is not complete. There are metal gates that are completely insufficient for keeping pups in the park. We have 2 Siberian Huskies, and we can only visit occasionally because once they remember where the gaps are, it becomes an escape game. I'd love to see more secure fencing so we...

A great park for those who don’t want river access. There is still a few areas that get really muddy but that’s to be expected in the trails. Pros: fenced to the parking lot, plus a fenced area for shy dogs/training. Lots of picnic tables and benches. Trash cans and bags. Well maintained. The memorial tree in the back trails is a must see. It’s also got multiple Pokémon go gyms, stops, and routes. Cons: The giant puddle at the back sucks though. I wish they would line it and make it a proper water source for the dogs. It would be great to let them play in, rinse off, drink, etc with reduced risk of illness due to the former use of the land. Parking on weekends can be a challenge, but usually not an issue. It would be cool to see some agility equipment in the field, something that all dogs can use while there. Just some thoughts from a frequent park user!
