Located within an unassuming building, the Devil's Coulee Dinosaur and Heritage Museum offers a unique and interactive experience that sets it apart from traditional museums. Despite its small size, this museum captivates visitors with its hands-on approach to learning.
One of the standout features of this museum is its interactive nature. Unlike most museums where exhibits are kept behind glass, here you have the opportunity to touch and hold various dinosaur bones. This immersive experience adds a whole new level of excitement and engagement. Being able to physically interact with the fossils creates a deeper connection to the ancient world of dinosaurs.
Upon entering the museum, there is a little "gift shop" area offering interesting souvenirs, including shark teeth, dinosaur plaster casts, and hoodies.
The site tour provided by the museum is truly exceptional. Our guide, Constance, exuded passion as she shared her knowledge about dinosaurs and the palaeontological reserve. Her enthusiasm made the tour engaging and informative. The reserve itself is a treasure trove of dinosaur bone fragments and egg fragments, offering a truly unique experience that cannot be found elsewhere. The dig site hike is absolutely worth it even on windy days! Steep grading down into the coulee so if you have trouble walking, probably skip this part. Manageable for regular ranges of motion and kids that love to climb! Guaranteed youâll see something you didnât expect to see on a trip down to the dig site!
Definitely recommend taking the short trip out to Warner to check out this absolute gem for dinosaur lovers! (Bring your wallet, the gift shop has some...
Read moreThis is a great museum! Although small, it has a wide selection of fossils and exhibits. It's especially interesting because so many of the fossils are from right down the road! The guides we had were very knowledgeable and were able to answer all of our questions.
The tour of the coulee itself was also very interesting. It was incredible to be able to walk around a place with so many important fossils. There were also plenty of microfossils to be found, although since it's a protected area they must all stay there. Again, the guides were very knowledgeable and added a lot to the experience.
I would strongly recommend going if you're...
