Lovely quiet place with a beach facing Middle Waterton Lake. It got its name due to dead wood that is drifted by strong wind to the beach. You can swim here during the hot days on summer and early fall, or just relax on the beach. Splashes of clean water, gusts of fresh breeze, colorful pebbles, deadwood constructions and beautiful mountains will surround you at your retreat.

One of my fav beaches, especially for sunrise. It’s such a big beach that you have so much space to be alone on it without noise. It can get windy but that is no big deal. Just after sunset though, lil bars show up and fly around which is so neat to see! Also have gone for a dip at this beach, while chilly it’s very refreshing on a 30° plus day. Highly recommend!

As I am on an anniversary trip with my husband road tripping around places we have never been in Alberta we stumble upon the beach that if I would have known about a few years ago we would have got married on this beach! As if the Driftwood Beach named itself does not explain what you will see there is Driftwood everywhere on this beach making it a very scenic view regardless of the visibility. We spent one day in Waterton with limited visibility, loved every minute and can only imagine the photographic views I will have the next time...
