Lake Louise is a stunner, but here are some of the bluest alpine lakes in the Canadian Rockies: 🏔️Moraine Lake 🏔️Maligne Lake 🏔️Peyto Lake 🏔️Lake O’Hara 🏔️Bow Lake 🏔️Lake Agnes 🏔️Consolation Lakes 🏔️Lake Annette 🏔️Hector Lake 🏔️Floe Lake and SO MANY MORE ! Which one is on your list?

Probably my most favorite spot in the Banff / Jasper area. Beautiful views without the crowds. We had the whole lake to ourselves. Finding the parking was easy once you know the GPS coordinates: 51.587681N 116.309808W The hike was not too long - maybe an hour (One way) but it was quite muddy when we went on June 15th. The best part about the hike was crossing the river. Even though the water was mid-thigh high, the pressure of the water flowing made it a challenge to cross it. I know there is a way around it to the lake by walking along the river but where is the fun in that!

Awesome lake! About a 3 mile hike round trip if you DO NOT CROSS THE RIVER, when you reach the river and see a sign that indicates to cross, just follow a single track trail to the left of the sign- it follows the river and eventually reaches the lake. I hiked in early September 2018 and was able to reach the lake without crossing! The trail from the "parking area" to the river is severely coroded and has a stream running down half of it so...

I'm sure I will redo my review to a 5 star if I was to complete the hike. This is not a novice hike and it's quite challenging. Ended up having heavy rain while we attempted to make it to the lake and had to turn around. There is river crossing and water was flowing faster and deeper then I was comfortable crossing, about waist deep. Will definitely make it back here as I'm sure the results...
