We have taken our family camping here for the last 5 years. We go for one full week, every summer in July. We have 3 kids, currently aged 10,10, 12 and we tented for the first 2 years and stayed in a 20 foot trailer for the last 3 years.. The campground has both powered (33 bucks per night) and non-powered sites (26 bucks per night). 6 bucks to dump your trailer if you want. There are several pit toilets that are cleaned every morning at about 8 AM. They stink, which is to be expected. There is 1 main shower house that has 4 regular showers and 1 handicapped shower on the male side and the same on the female side. 1 loonie for 2.5 minutes, and 2 loonies for 5 minute shower. This shower house also has 1 flush toilet on the male side and 2 on the female side. Shower building closed for cleaning every night at 11 PM. Firewood is 11 bucks per bundle..This lake is actually a reservoir, so the water levels fluctuate year to year and this affects the amount of sand that is available on the beach. This year, the water level was low, so there was a very large, sandy beach. Concession off the beach that severs basic things like ice cream and hot dogs as well as some very basic camping needs (ice, condiments etc). If you have a motor boat, the reservoir is massive, so you will be able to find a nice clean area to do whatever you want. Also, good water for fishing and the area is great for bird watching (we have seen owls on 2 of the 5 occasions we have camped there, and you will see pelicans on the lake for sure)...We keep going back here, because it never gets blue-green algae, and it is a great family...

I love this campground and have lots of positive things to say. But over the years campground has become less attractive. I agree with others rules not enforced for noise and dogs on beach. There are lots of owners with little princesses that actually take them onto beach and keep refreshing them in lake. The rest of us obey rules. Bathrooms are not as clean but dont really expect them to be. Users seem to be inconsiderate and dont care. We all need to kick in. Noise after 11 not always controlled even thought it does not bother me I am glad I do not have young children. My biggest complaint is bats. Three years now have had issues with bats gettin in places of trailer. or clinging to trailer when trying to pack up. Campground needs to consider setting up bat boxes. I have researched it more this year after coming back and bats live tent trailers or any place they can find a little cost cover. Its life but things can be done. Last year was worse with them getting in crevices grates etc and when trying to pack up we fought over a dozen. This year tried to do more prevention but still an issue the did not get in but loved under crevices and fought off at least 1/2 dozen when packing up. Lots of bat droppings and unfortunately blood drips all over top of sun screen shelter . Could be bats or something else. Would still go back just had to...

A beautiful waterfront lakeside reservoir that offers day use and camping. A 2 hour drive from Calgary. The highlight is the beach, which is very sandy considering its in Alberta. Reservable serviced and non serviced sites. many vault toilets and tap water stations distanced closely with many sites. 3 loops, mostly filed with RVs, and a group camping site. Showers are available for coins ($1 for 2.5 mins). A downside is the privacy, almost all sites are extremely close with no blocking objects. Some sites also have people chatting well beyond the quiet hours. There is also no cell reception unless you hike up one of the hills. The nearest town is Champion, so bring enough food and equipment. Firewood is readily available at the office but I recommend getting it at a Vulcan gas station or in the Champion grocery store since its cheaper. It is definitely one of the more popular and crowded campgrounds due to its services, including a concession and boat launch. The prairie landscape makes it easily accessible for smaller road vehicles. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The playground is pretty small and old, but the roads and the mini park is great for...

An oasis amid a pretty barren part of Alberta, little bow offers plenty of amenities at a mostly reasonable price point. Middle parts of the loops do not afford much privacy and this campground can be a real zoo on the weekend so choose your site carefully. The staff ensure the bathrooms and showers are camping clean which is better then most private places I've been to. My only complaint is that the firewood price is bonkers for what you get. This is a great family campground with quiet time at 11pm it filters the rowdy folks to Travers Resivoir where they don't enforce any rules. You can expect to have a great time here if you are looking for a place to listen to the birds, fish or just go for a nice walk. No cellular connectivity unless you drive to the boat launch or the top of the hill which can be a great way to disconnect. The fishing here is excellent as well.

Lovely little hidding spot in the middle of no where. We went there for the day to take a look at the campground, the beach is a small but nice one. There is a boat launch area and the campground looked nice but to open for my liking, I think I will try camping at least one time there for that review tho. The one reason I am giving this place a 3 star is because by the beach area I did not see any flush toilet bathrooms and the bathrooms that are there are just Gross, I was told there is blush toilet bathrooms in the campground but we were by the beach so no luck with that. Second reason I am giving it a 3 star is because I haven't had the experience of camping there yet so that might chance my mind when I am able to go camping there.

This park is located on a reservoir with a boat launch, boat trailer parking, beach, ice cream stand, and large campground. The beach is a bit of a walk from the campground and the playground is a bit hard to find. The beach is sandy, large, with trees, picnic tables, and parking. The campground is level. Sites are easy to park the motorhome in. Sites are either no service or power only. No water or sewer at sites. No privacy either. We were there on a busy mid-June weekend so there were lots of families, boats, and campers. There are flush toilets at the shower house and pit toilets in the campground. There were some shade trees in the campground but also a lot of open un-shaded campsites.
