Magic hour provides an excellent opportunity to experience a beautiful sky. The trail is a bit wide taking some photos with the camera raised higher makes some nice photos. Muskrats, Beavers, Porcupines, Ducks, Geese, Rabbits, Coyotes, Pelicans....
I had a beautiful experience walking the trail on a sunny day shortly after a snowfall. It was my first time wearing sunglasses during winter. The snowflakes at the correct angle looking upon the snow appear as rainbow 🌈 sparkles upon the clean white background. If you haven't already seen this effect get some inexpensive sunglasses and be amazed. Unfortunately cameras and photos are currently not able to capture this...
Read moreHave been using this trail for a few years now and am quite happy that they've upgraded it as part of the Trans-Canada Trail system. The trail itself is a packed gravel and nice and wide and flat. The views of the North Saskatchewan River along the trail are stunning in all seasons and there are a few spots where you can actually walk down to beach areas (perfect for dogs that love to chase sticks and splash around). The wildlife viewing is excellent. We've seen everything from deer, eagles, and pelicans to weasels and coyotes. Wonderful location for a nice day stroll...
Read moreGreat walking trails. They have a portable toilet at the main. They could use more garbage bins through the trail. There is one at the entrance, one at the three way split (3/4 of the way round the trail) and one at the exit.
