Rockies Heli Canada — Attraction in Alberta

Rockies heli was great to deal with for booking, it was a great weather day for a trip! It was a great way to spend Mother’s Day with my Mom, Grannie and brother. When booking I made sure to ask about asking if we were going to have the chopper to ourselves and it was confirmed yes.

I booked a 4 person 55min icefields tour. Kelly was amazing to deal with she really had a way to make you feel welcome and at home, really makes a person want to come back.

We showed up a half hour early and got a safety debrief from Jocelyn, and he explained everything you would need to stay safe around the heli. Shortly after we were escorted to the chopper.

We took off and it was a rush! But within 5 mins we were asked if we could pick another person up off a backcountry hiking spot. Reluctantly we said it was ok…but honestly in my mind it wasn’t…5 mins into an hour chopper ride we pick up another person…kinda left a sour taste in my mouth. It wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t a big family moment for Mother’s Day but I find it still eating at me as I’m typing this.

We found the pilot to be great to explain some cool stuff on the flight and keep everyone engaged, we always felt safe and he made sure to keep us informed on how he was going to fly to keep us safe.

All and all it was a sweet ride just next time if there’s a need to pick someone up at all I would have rather picked the guy up on the way back rather then have him for...

Rockies Heli & Ralph;

Where Do I begin!? Firstly. Thank you for everything!! From the moment we stepped in the door, Ralph greeted us and made us feel at home! I started to rib him, and he gave it back to me just as good. We hadn’t even left the ground, and I was having such a great time hanging out with him! We booked a .3 flight for Epic Wedding photos, and believe me, this entire experience was nothing short of EPIC!! Sue helped me get into my gown, while Ralph unwrapped my flowers and helped my husband with everything he needed! Everyone here is so kind and so professional! The entire experience was just unbelievable!

We loaded into the helicopter and WOW! Those views! Ralph Is a fantastic pilot! We took selfies flying, shot the bull and had so many laughs! We were literally on top of the World!! (Well, 10,000 feet!) Upon landing on the mountain, the snow was 2 feet deep! Ralph was more then happy to stomp out the paths first, so it was easier to hike in my wedding dress! He held flowers, coats and everything in-between! All morning Ralph ensured I was warm and he took great care of us! When we landed back at the heli pad, they had a warm fire going and brought us fresh Bread that Sue made! The bread was knotted, and it was meant to symbolize tying the Knot! It was the sweetest thing! Thank you Rockies Heli and Ralph for the most amazing start to our Wedding Day!! I can’t wait for the summer to go back...

We booked this as part of our honeymoon! Sean who worked in the office was great to deal with and gave us a call leading up to our day to let us know that the weather was looking bad on Sunday so asked us if he could change our flight date to Saturday instead. The location was super easy to find. Their building is beautiful and they had clean washrooms onsite to use before we headed up for our 20 minute flight and 1 hour hike. I was a bit worried about the hike as my husband has a disability but it was super casual and we went at the pace that worked best for us. Our group meandered around the mountain top area we landed at and took a bunch of pictures there. Ralph, our pilot, was so friendly and made us all feel at ease. He has been flying a helicopter his whole life in a variety of different jobs so the amount of hours and experience he has in the pilot seat is amazing! We shared the experience with a mother and her 2 daughters who even brought cake up for all of us to enjoy at the top of the mountain! It was a really great experience and I'd highly recommend people to "splurge" on this activity if you get...
