I would give the Saskatoon Farm operation 10 stars if I could, however our most recent experience today at the Restaurant was a consistent comedy of errors, and complete lack of any organization that it pains me to complete this review.
Canada Day of course it’s going to be busy. We knew that. We put our names at the restaurant for a table as soon as we arrived and walked around the farm waiting for our “msg” that our table was ready. 45 minutes later we rcvd the msg and swiftly made our way to the hostess podium.
(I will add here that by this time it was 2:30pm and the restaurant was not at full capacity with several tables unoccupied)
We were shown to our table about 5 minutes of waiting after receiving our text and soon afterward greeted by our server.
We placed our drink orders and our meal orders when our server returned a few minutes later after filling our water glasses.
25 minutes passed with no sign of our server, our drinks had not arrived, our water glasses were completely empty (it was a very hot day).
About 10 minutes after this our food arrived delivered by someone different than our original server. We still had not received our drinks and asked the server who dropped off our food if she could possibly inquire as to where our drinks were.
Our food was stone cold but we ate it anyway as we were all hungry.
Finally our drinks arrived another 10 minutes later. 2 drinks were incorrect but we chose to drink them anyway because we still had not seen our server and were worried we would wait another half an hour or more a beverage to arrive.
One of our orders was a plate of nachos to share which required a few extra napkins as there weren’t any side plates given, however we waited another 10 minutes for extra napkins and a fill up on our water glasses as requested.
This experience became embarrassing because we honestly felt like we were appearing to be high maintenance customers with requesting even the most simple of things when we just wanted a good meal and a relaxing time together.
Our serve (once he appeared) apologized for the wait and offered to take one beverage off of our bill.
He was a kind enough person but sheesh what a complete and utter disappointment this experience was for all four of us.
I have worked in the service industry for over 25 years and have managed bars and restaurants in North America and the U.K.
The Saskatoon Farm is a lovely and wonderful place BUT the restaurant service today has us ensuring we will warn any friends or family members that may consider going if what our negative experience was.
There are other facets to this restaurant experience too that truly let us down, however, we wanted to at least offer the bulk of our...

I’ve never had a bad experience here: the selection of items for purchase is excellent, the markets are always well-organized and fun, the food has never let me down, and the produce is fantastic. So when my (now) husband and I started wedding planning, it was a no-brainer that this would be our top choice for a venue!
We recently got married here, and my appreciation and love for The Saskatoon Farm have only grown. Our first tour was with Elena, who also became our main point of contact over the next year and a bit leading up to the wedding. She was incredibly thorough in answering my many (many!) questions and always got back to me in a timely manner.
Both Elena and Nicole were also so helpful during our final walkthrough and in the days leading up to the wedding, whether it was during our decor drop-off, floral prep, or set-up instructions, it was clear how much they cared about ensuring we felt at ease and excited for the big day.
The wedding day itself couldn’t have been more perfect; it truly was a dream come true. The entire team executed my vision flawlessly: from the custom cocktail hour menu, to the ceremony and reception set-up, to the thoughtful organization of the gift and guest book table, every detail showed so much care. Throughout the evening, they made sure everything ran as smoothly as possible, and I’m endlessly grateful we chose The Saskatoon Farm as our wedding venue.
I also have to add that the space itself is PERFECT for a wedding. I highly recommend booking the Sunny Studio for getting-ready photos; it was spacious, beautifully lit, and we were even able to order breakfast and drinks right from the restaurant below. We also chose to add the flower baskets to the ceremony space (the lath house), and that was absolutely the right decision. And finally, I can’t recommend the Saskatoon berry pie enough for dessert! Our guests complimented all the food that evening, but the pie with ice cream was truly unforgettable.
We’ll always support this business, and they have truly earned our highest praise. A very special thank you to Elena and Nicole, you played such a huge role in making our day so seamless and unforgettable! -...
Read moreI’ve been debating on writing a review as I’ve had a couple of really positive experiences here in the past, but I was honestly quite shocked by my previous experience this Tuesday at the restaurant. My sister and I decided to switch it up and travel out to the Saskatoon Farm for brunch, and with it being during the week, we figured it wouldn’t be overly busy, which it wasn’t, the restaurant was maybe half full. We were standing waiting to be seated for quite a few minutes, and when we were finally acknowledged, we were just handed menus and told to find a table. We found one a little out of the way as I had my 4 month old in her stroller so I didn’t want people tripping over it. However we were sitting waiting for service for about 15 almost 20 minutes with no greeting from anyone, no offer for drinks, and there were probably 2-3 waitresses walking around serving others, filling drinks, and there was even a couple of groups of other people that were seated after us and had drinks on their table and being served by a waitress. We knew that they knew we were there as the waitresses kept walking past and looking over at us and at our table but weren’t serving us? Finally after about 15-20 minutes of looking stupid sitting there waiting, we just decided to get up and leave. We didn’t drive all the way out there to just stare at the menu. We ended up driving into Okotoks to the Denny’s, were seated and served straight away and had our food on the table within 20 minutes of being seated. I was very disappointed by our experience as we were planning on having some food and then walking around the farm for a nice day out but instead we just ended up leaving with a bad taste in our mouths. Due to this experience, I won’t be coming back or supporting the farm in...
