We visited Waterton as a day trip during our visit to Glacier National Park. It took us a few hours from Glacier but the views were awesome. We had our passports with us which made it easy getting into Canada. It took about 30 minutes getting to Waterton after crossing the border, however we stopped to take photos along the way. The town of Waterton is beautiful and full of beautiful scenery of the Rockies and lakes. We saw several hiking trails and lots of deers. We were there the first week of September and the town was still busy with lots of tourist. Most of the cruise ships were full with limited vacancies. They have plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from so limit of food choices. Be mindful of your time as the closest broader crossing closes early. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and plan to stay longer during our next visit.

What can I say about Waterton? I make a point to visit here at least once a year. Sometimes, I will visit up to 3 times a year. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, and we have been fortunate to visit it on days when the winds are calm and the reflection in the water is absolutely stunning. Our first trip of the year is early May, and there is not much open in the townsite, but even in the summer months, it is not as crazy busy as Banff or Jasper. It is a very nice small town feel.

Beautiful, fantastic and spectacular. Red canyon, cameron lake + other trails. No wait if you arrived earlie, like we did but we exit in pm to visit the 2 flag near canada/us and we were stuck outside of the park. Canada Park decided to close the entry to the park around 2pm until 4pm.. because too many people and a lot of traffic, parking full. They reopen just in time for our reservation at prince of whales restaurant.

Drove 2.5 hours from Glacier National Park to visit Waterton National Park. Beautiful park with many hiking and biking trails. The hotel was very nice and the town was enjoyable to walk the streets and shopping. Red Canyon, hike to the falls, and buffalo paddock was worth the visit. The Waterton Park was devastated by the 2017 Kenow wildfire. Although the new growth is coming back it will be decades before the park will fully recover. Nothing but dead and burnt trees as far as...
