We visited Waterton as a day trip during our visit to Glacier National Park. It took us a few hours from Glacier but the views were awesome. We had our passports with us which made it easy getting into Canada. It took about 30 minutes getting to Waterton after crossing the border, however we stopped to take photos along the way.
The town of Waterton is beautiful and full of beautiful scenery of the Rockies and lakes. We saw several hiking trails and lots of deers. We were there the first week of September and the town was still busy with lots of tourist. Most of the cruise ships were full with limited vacancies.
They have plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from so limit of food choices.
Be mindful of your time as the closest broader crossing closes early.
