THIS IS NOT A BRIDGE OR A TOURIST ATTRACTION. IT IS A NATIONAL PARK.
This beaver dam is located in Wood Buffalo National Park, the largest park in Canada. It is situated about 13 miles south of Lake Claire. It measures almost 1/2 mile from end-to-end and holds back run-off water from the Birch Mountains in the southernmost end of the park. No trails or navigable landscape exists in this part of the park.
The dam is the work of multiple generations of beavers, spanning what is believed to be 40 years, reflecting the high quality of the habitat.
It was first seen by scientists on satellite images in 2007 and is visible from space.
To see it, you must charter a private sightseeing tour by air. IT IS INACCESIBLE BY LAND.

The dam is protected by Parks Canada, who do yearly monitoring flights to check on the dam and its condition.
