Read moreFor those of us who are of Ukrainian heritage no explanation of what this is, is required. For everyone else, this is or at least was the world's largest perogy, complete with a fork stuck in it.🙂 Located in Glendon, Alberta on a secondary highway a little north of Highway 28 on the way to Bonnyville, Alberta. Quirky little tourist attraction though, unfortunately, there is no longer any restaurant in Glendon where you might be able to sample this eastern European dish.
The World's Largest Perogy is a notable roadside attraction located in the village of Glendon, Alberta, approximately 300 kilometers northeast of Calgary. Erected in 1993, this impressive statue stands 7.6 meters (27 feet) tall and weighs around 2,700 kilograms (6,000 pounds). The perogy is depicted impaled on a giant fork, symbolizing the community's rich Ukrainian heritage and its celebration of this traditional dumpling.
