Beautiful Lake. Super easy treck in. Took an hour to reach the first access point. Lots of tree roots and slight elevation gain. Poles were handy in spots. Instead of heading back after reaching the lake I recommend continuing along the left path along the lake to the far end and back into the alpine. An additional 30 min from the far end of the lake you will reach a pretty amazing waterfall that feeds Sherbrooke lake. If you continue on you will reach Niles Meadow which has its own level of beauty. Past the meadow you will see another cascade which flows into the Sherbrooke waterfall. The initial hike is manageable for folks in good shape. There is some uphill forest hiking that gives a good cardio workout. But well worth it.
You eventually come to a gorgeous lake that is as emerald in color as Emerald Lake and as pristine as Lake Moraine.
The best part is it is not crowded and leaves you wondering why Sherbrooke Lake doesn’t get as much attention as the others. My theory is there are some spots the locals want to keep quiet about. This is one of them. Please don’t tell anyone...

It’s not as blue or beautiful as Louise or Moraine but it was very still - and quiet. Very very beautiful in that way. We did both the lookout and the lake. Lookout Trail was very steep and it’s the same view as driving down the highway. Of all the hikes in the area I wouldn’t do the lookout again but I’d definitely go back to Sherbrooke.
