I heard about the Malahat SkyWalk from a friend in Grande Prairie who designed & installed the slide.
When I searched it up, the pictures did not do justice to the overall experience. The rate they charge is an incredible value.
I travelled from Chemainus on Sunday, August 28, around 12:30 pm.
If driving from Duncan/Nanaimo, use Google Maps instead of Apple Maps. Google indicated that you must go past the entrance you may think you can turn in.
It’s essential because the highway is hectic & you don’t want to hold up traffic trying to figure it out. The right approach is to use a U-turn further down the road & there is signage to keep it easy.
Once you arrive, the parking provides an ample amount of space and is easy to navigate around.
The staff I had the pleasure of dealing with was friendly and knowledgeable about the facility.
Once we went through the checkpoints with our online purchased tickets, it was about a 5-10 minute walk along “The Tree Walk” which was quite nice leading up to the SkyWalk.
The SkyWalk itself is a masterpiece. Well designed & lots of signage sharing excellent information. The walk to the top could be lengthy for some individuals, but the fantastic views along the way make it very enjoyable.
The slide did have a long line if you’re planning to go down. (30 minutes) I didn’t go down today. I will make sure I do next time, but if you went early in the morning, I’m sure it would be quick & fun!
When you get to the top, bring your best camera with a strap. I’ll be bringing binoculars next time as the views are unbelievable—lots of wildlife, beautiful homes along the valley, and just breathtaking views.
I think that’s all I should say as anyone in the area needs to stop by for the unforgettable memories. Check out my pictures I’ve attached, they do the justice that I can’t put into words. (Wish Google Maps would allow me to add Videos!!) Thank you for building this world...

The Malahat Skywalk is a fantastic attraction for both locals and visitors. The views are absolutely stunning and it’s a wonderful way for people of all ages to enjoy and experience Vancouver Island’s natural beauty.
The viewing platforms are truly breath-taking, especially at the top. You don’t realize just how magical it is until you’re up there.
The whole site is thoughtfully designed, encouraging play, exploration, and learning from the moment you arrive whether it’s admiring the driftwood sculptures, getting a treat at the Happy Camper, walking on the adventure net, taking the spiral slide down or just revelling in the amazing architecture and planning that has gone into making this attraction a reality.
There is an outdoor fire-pit, food service before the walk and at the tower and clean bathrooms available.
The annual membership is well worth it, especially with the bonus discounts to on-site food, souvenirs and other local attractions.
Pro tip 1: Before you leave, make sure to take advantage of Luke’s Lane! The walk offers a great taste of what it’s like to be in a rainforest, and the interpretive elements along the way make the experience both informative and enjoyable.
Pro tip 2: If you don’t have children and you prefer a quieter and less “lively” visit, I recommend going earlier in the morning, as afternoons can be lively with families heading for the slide and adventure net.
Pro-tip 3: For a full day with visitors, start the morning at the Malahat and then take the Mill Bay ferry across to Brentwood Bay to experience the amazing Butchart Gardens. You have to drive to Mill Bay to get back to Victoria anyways, so consider saving time driving back and around and substitute it with a scenic ferry ride across!
Overall, the Malahat Skywalk is an incredible experience and a must-see on the island. Plan to spend 1-2...
Read moreThe malahat is a sight to see myself and 2 others friends went there last summer exited to see what it would be like one of us had already been once and that's the reason we came Once we parked the car we all bought our tickets and headed and in. Along the path to the Malahat there were multiple little activity stations,Which we all tried for a minute or two at each one.Once we got to the actual tower part of the Malahat SkyWalk even though we were very low not even a quarter of the way we could see the lovely view of the scenery and Saanich Inlet. It took around 40 minutes for us to climb it at our walking speed and stoping every little bit to admire the view but it can be very different considering how long you are up to staying there. Once we climbed up to the top there was a rope walk area to stand one and multiple signs along the railings of the edge of the Malahat they were all about animals and nature. We went down a level after to go down there epic slide was a very long drop one of us decided not to go down and meet us down at the bottom. The line up for the slide was very long the day we went but as well it could possibly very because we came in the end of the summer. We thought the line for the would take a while but it took less than twenty minutes. The slide was very bumpy and makes you dizzy when you get off. Outside at the food stands there we all got a slice of cheese pizza and some of us decided to get ice cream. On our way out we decided to go and look in the gift shop to get souvenir to remember our experience here but we ended up getting nothing because as a lot of gift shops are over priced
Overall If you're going for just the experience and not interested in buying anything it's extravagant. The food were from food trucks and were a bit over priced. Don't waste your money on stuff from...
