It was by far the perfect end to an amazing holiday and the wildlife seen in one day was incredible. It was late summer and i took the ferry from Vancouver to prince Rupert which was amazing in itself. Hotel overnight and went on adventure tours early morning for the full day trip to khutzeymateen. We saw at least 10 grizzlies, some with cubs just lazing in the water and strolling along the beach, hundreds of seals, several large pods of killer whales swam alongside the boat and showed off their babies, playful humpbacks, a lone wolf, bald eagles everywhere and a moose. Not to mention the scenery was sublime and the air as pure and clean as it gets. Five stars was not enough for this adventure...

Visiting the Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary was on top of our bucket list when we visited Prince Rupert on the North Western Coast of British Columbia in Canada. We booked a half-day ferry ride to the sanctuary with Prince Rupert Adventure Tours which takes you deep into one of the fjords on the coastline of BC, very close to the border with Alaska. We spotted grizzly bears on two occasions and one was with a cub. We also sighted a humpback whale, dolphins, a sea lion and bald eagles, and these sightings were equally thrilling. It's a 'must do' if you happen to visit Prince...

The Sanctuary is great and definitely worth visiting but consider how to go there. We took the Prince Rupert Adventure Tour. It was expensive and with a big boat-100 people. The crew was very friendly and tried to entertain us but as always there were some screaming children and tourists that don't know how to behave. They scared the bears and it was impossible to view them. If you have a chance go there with a...

We drove to Prince Rupert from Jasper, with stopover at Smithers. The route was very very picturesque, and 100% worth it. We took the Prince Rupert Adventure tours, which was amazing. The crew were constantly giving a commentary. We saw a number of grizzly bears, humpback whales bubble feeding and lots of bald eagles. Totally worth the trip.
