Tyaughton Lake as a lake might be nice, but there is not enough public access. The only way you can actually get to the water is via the Friburg rec site at the northwestern tip of the lake. It has maybe 3 camp sites, and a tiny gravelly water access. There is not much sun, as it is fully treed. Unless you are in a waterfront cabin, this is not a place to hang out at the lake and spend the day. For this purpose I would recommend Mowson Pond just 6 minutes down the road.

Serene, surrounded by mountains, coniferous trees and Lakeshore cabins. The sounds are of the wind, birds (including loons), and the occasional float plane. Sparesly populated with canoes, kyacks or SUPs. Fish jump from the lake from time to time in the air to catch bugs....

Beautiful lake with cabins around. Typical location for folks from Vancouver to retreat on long weekends. I have not seen any facilities of any kind...
