One of the nicest and most varied hikes on the Sunshine Coast. The hike includes forest, boardwalks across a series of ponds, sheltered coves, and views up the Strait of Georgia. Lots wildlife in and around the ponds and ocean. The first part of the hike through forest and across the ponds is relatively easy but can be wet and muddy in the spring or after heavy rains. The remainder of the hike to and around a point of land is quite uneven and can be difficult for people not used to walking on rocky terrain, but the views are worth the walk. First you walk through a bit of forest, then across a boardwalk through some swamp areas and then you reach the cove, The ocean and arbutus trees. It’s about an hour hike at a leisurely pace. The hike is not technically difficult, but there are a few areas that could be a bit tricky for little ones or those with some balance / mobility challenges . Dogs are welcome but only on leash.
