One of the nicest and most varied hikes on the Sunshine Coast. The hike includes forest, boardwalks across a series of ponds, sheltered coves, and views up the Strait of Georgia. Lots wildlife in and around the ponds and ocean. The first part of the hike through forest and across the ponds is relatively easy but can be wet and muddy in the spring or after heavy rains. The remainder of the hike to and around a point of land is quite uneven and can be difficult for people not used to walking on rocky terrain, but the views are worth the walk. Can be very busy during weekends or on holidays at any time...

This is a great hike to show off the terrain of the region. First you walk through a bit of forest, then across a boardwalk through some swamp areas and then you reach the cove, The ocean and arbutus trees. It’s about an hour hike at a leisurely pace. The hike is not technically difficult, but there are a few areas that could be a bit tricky for little ones or those with some balance / mobility challenges . Dogs are welcome but only on leash. There is an outhouse style bathroom at the parking lot area at the start...

If you've ever been to Tom Sawyer's island in Disneyland, you'll immediately understand what Smugglers cove is. It's so naturally beautiful it's almost hard to believe it isn't a man made oceanfront park. It's a small walk in and a bit of hike with the littles (our 3 and 6 year old) but when you get to it you forget the walk immediately. It's an adventure and your transported to another world entirely. Swimming in the inlet and catching crawlies on the rocks, this park is all of the things...

This is an easy/moderate hike for the first 1.5 km which will take you to beautiful Smuggler's Cove. Nicely maintained, wide trail with some tree roots, so need to watch your step. You have the option of going further to get views of the inlet. This next section of the trail is also great, but a little more narrow and steeper in parts. Still an easy hike for seasoned hikers, but probably considered moderate if you rarely hike.

I think this Cove is the prettiest place I explored on this I land. Well the walk and ups and downs on the stairs and docks is breathtakingly amusing. It was around 7Km walk/hike for us and the weather was nice enough that we waited at so points and took this beauty in under the little sunshine that we got. Please visit this place and get to know about the ecosystem and living beings.
