Upd. I appreciate your response, but I find it frustrating when businesses try to justify poor service. I’ve attached a screenshot from my phone showing my calls made during your stated business hours. The first call went to an automated voice system, while the second redirected to management and then just produced beeps. Clients shouldn’t have to leave messages and wait for response in the case when they’re deciding on same-day attendance depending on weather conditions. Simply answering the phone during business hours would resolve the issue. Or just note in the announcement how the event depends on the weather: you're the outdoor facility with October's event. I don’t know Chef Avi Sternberg personally, and my message wasn’t meant it, I’ve wanted to try his cuisine for a while, but I’ll do so elsewhere, in a less toxic environment. --- I attempted to reach you several times by phone (including forwarding by 5 to management) to confirm whether the Vines & Tides Harvest Dinner would be held indoors or outdoors, as this information is not specified on your website announcement. Unfortunately, I was unable to reach anyone for clarification and, as a result, had to decide not to attend. Please extend my regards and appreciation to Chef Avi Sternberg.

We were feeling a little defeated trying to find the right wedding venue until we found 40 Knots Winery! From the get go we loved their terraced floor-to-ceiling glass building that overlooked the vineyard, stunning! The customer service that was provided to us throughout the planning process was second to none. We used their day of coordinator service and our coordinator(s) took the time with us to truly understand the vision for our special day and they made sure it was executed flawlessly on the day of our wedding. Before our BIG day we had faith in them to get the job done right. On the day of our reception the staff went out of their way to make sure that we (the bride and groom) were well looked after. They catered to our needs (without us asking them to) and made sure we had a drink in our hand and food to eat! They executed the coordination seamlessly making sure every detail was accounted for. They were able to discretely make sure everything got done. They did a good job ironing out small fires the day of our wedding without concerning us, so that we could just be in the moment. We would highly recommend 40 Knots Winery to anyone considering using them as their wedding venue.

Perhaps I've been spoiled by the upscale wineries, but that doesn't mean this isn't a gem. Unfortunately I didn't get to try the food, but it looks amazing. I did do a wine tasting; I am impressed by the fact they don't use sprays; it's old, European style...with ducks & hens pecking at the bugs in the vineyards; that was a HUGE selling point for me. My fave was the Chardonnay. A light crispy apple flavour. You can actually taste the fruit & not just sugar...another huge selling point for me. This wine begs to be opened on a hot summer day/night. I wasn't a fan of the others, but I'm not much into Rose & reds so much. Ps. The vineyard is charming & rustic- also seemed to be quite popular- (busy.)

Title: A Source of Comfort and Beauty Review: I recently had the honor of hosting my late wife's celebration of life at 40 Knots Winery, and I cannot express enough gratitude for the compassion and empathy shown by the owners Brenda and Layne and staff during such a difficult time. The owners of 40 Knots Winery went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was taken care of. From our first meeting, their genuine empathy and understanding were evident. They listened attentively, offering guidance and support throughout the planning process. Their kindness and willingness to accommodate our needs made the entire experience much more manageable. The staff at 40 Knots Winery also deserves recognition for their professionalism and compassion. They handled every aspect of the event with sensitivity, making sure all attendees felt welcome and comfortable. Their warm and friendly demeanor provided a sense of solace during a challenging time. As for the venue itself, it truly is a picturesque and serene location. Nestled in the Comox Valley, Vancouver Island BC. 40 Knots Winery offers stunning views, impeccable landscapes, and a peaceful ambiance. The serene atmosphere added to the overall sense of tranquility and reflection during the event. It was the perfect setting to honor and celebrate my wife's life. I am deeply grateful to the owners, staff, and the entire team at 40 Knots Winery for creating such a memorable experience. Their immense compassion and attention to detail turned a challenging occasion into a beautiful and meaningful tribute. I wholeheartedly recommend 40 Knots Winery to anyone seeking a compassionate and picturesque venue for any special event. They have undoubtedly exceeded my expectations in every way possible. It was just okay. Went there as part of a tour of several wineries but this was the only one that didn't wow us at all (other than the pretty landscape). Staff were friendly but didn't really seem too interested in the people there for tastings. Poured the wine a d walked away. All other places took time to tell us about their wines and about their history. And the food was terrible. Not in taste but in style. They hand you a list to check off what you want to eat for your 'picnic'. But they don't really tell you that the cheeses are whole wheels of cheese and the smoked salmon is just a can of salmon handed to you. No presentation at all. Not even a fork to take the salmon out of the can with. And they were out of a lot of items. So basically we ended up with a $9 baguette cut in 2, 2 blocks of cheese and a can of salmon. They were out of chutneys, jams and the only other meat, pepperoni. For such a nice winery I would have assumed that you could at least present the salmon in a dish and not just handing us a can off the shelf of your gift shop. I mean I know you want people to be able to eat anywhere in the vineyard but we said we were eating inside. It would have been nice to actually enjoy the experience. Very...
