Really nice campground, as usual with the Provincial Campgrounds. It's very clean, tidy and well kept, the sites are generous and well treed and private. There is a shower which is nice (takes 2 loonies), and it's also clean and spacious. The check in/registration process was very easy and it was possible to pay by card, always a bonus. Fire wood is available from the host. The location is spectacular, only 20 mins from town (Powell River) along really well graded and smooth FSRs, the beach and lake are gorgeous. Also the famous Sunshine Coast Trail passes really close by so you can easily hop on it here for an epic hike or a leisurely strole up to Haywire Bluffs. All in all I'd happily give this campground a 10/10. Do visit!

From some of the reviews, you drive down 10 mins of semi-maintained gravel road. The sites are clean. The beach area is lovely. There is clean water, garbage disposal and recycling. Bathrooms could use a little more upkeep; but they aren't the worst we have seen. We turned up around 530pm and many sites available (mostly I think it's a weeknight and post summer times). It's $25 for a single site. We had the best stay; pup was taunted by many squirrels (which they seem super comfortable with humans and dogs). We noticed the park is infested with many moths, they are everywhere throughout the campground (maybe that time of the season?).

Great place for camping. Some campsites are close together but we lucked out with one that was quite private & felt like you were alone in nature. There are only 42 sites & they're all first come first serve.

This location and the beach is absolutely breathtaking, no doubt about it. British Columbia’s nature is incredible, and it is a privilege to experience it. That being said about Mother Nature and it’s beauty. Do not travel here if you are looking for some peace and quite as you would expect camping to be. specially on the weekends. It’s suitable only for families, as there is a large playground and the camping sites are mainly surrounding it, and imagine 40-50 children at a very tiny beach, and screaming and shouting at the same time non stop for hours. The beach is U shaped with canopy of trees around it, so the sounds also echoes. I am disappointed in my experience as I did come a long way from Vancouver Downtown, and hoping for a quiet getaway in the woods. I do understand that children play but there should be some banners perhaps suggesting noise levels at the beach, and to maybe be mindful of others privacy and space. as this is still a public beach for...
