We enjoyed our 14km (return) day trip from Nels Bight, especially since our packs were so light. Friendly lighthouse keepers greeted us and invited us to climb up to the top of the lighthouse and take photos. Filtered water awaits so bring your bladder bags and bottles to fill - much cleaner than any other water sources we came across. WiFi is also available, but can’t be counted on. Thanks to those who maintain this site!

Milestone not a Highlight. A must do hike when in the Cape Scott Provincial Park. It is a good 7 mile or so round trip from Nils Bight and the trail is nicely maintained. Guiss Beach is a highlight along the way and a great spot to camp. The lighthouse does have filtered water so you can camel up for the walk back mid way. It is a fun walk, with a trail designed to allow for conversation among friends. Enjoy.

It's a lighthouse! Not all that spectacular as it's up on high ground. Trek to get there is interesting though. Lighthouse complex is larger than I though with many outbuildings.... newly installed wind turbines in 2019 as well. You can get water there behind one of the buildings, but have to run it a bit, as the water gets hot for some reason.

It was great to finally see the Light and the lightkeeper’s home and surrounding buildings. Sadly we had a rainy day, but it was still quite magical. The interpretive signs were great to read, but best of all was the tap of fresh clean water so we could restock and take water back to camp. We loaded up on 2L each. Go prepared with something to...
