Marble River Recreation Site — Attraction in Area B (Quatsino Sound/Cape Scott)

Large, private, free sites. Very peaceful when I was there, just the sound of the river to listen to. However the mosquitoes were probably worse here than anywhere else I visited on the island between Nanaimo and the northern tip. Bug spray hardly deterred them. Be prepared if you're coming...

The site looked beautiful, but there was no information posted that the campground was closed! We drove for a couple of hours hoping to camp there and had to find an alternate site last minute. This was mid Oct. would be helpful to know when the campground closes...
