Fun Trail. Very technical and muddy for the first two days. We did Shushartie Bay to Nahwitti River day 1 then to Shuttleworth Bight/Irony Creek day 2. If you don't care about saying you did the North Coast trail I would just take the boat straight to Cape Sutil and give yourself extra days for the Cape Scott Trail. There was nothing that memorable before Cape Sutil other then the Shushartie drop which is pretty cool. We got to see lots of marine and wildlife. Bring a Sat phone with you. Met a handful of the park rangers, awesome folks who work hard to keep the trail running be sure to thank them if...

🎥@fuelforthesole ・・・ 4-Day Itinerary for North Vancouver Island 🚗💨💨 As 97% of Vancouver Island’s population lives in the southern half, north Vancouver Island has become an escape for outdoor recreationists in search of solitude. This region begins past Campbell River and stretches to the tippy top, Port Hardy. ‼️Note that when exploring this massive area, there are very limited services, so plan accordingly. ‼️Carry all the necessary safety gear, map out gas stations, download maps/carry paper maps and carry a satellite phone/GPS messenger. 📆 Best times to visit are between May and September. ✨ Day 1 - Telegraph Cove ✍️ This tiny and picturesque village is wrapped around a snug little bay and known for its whale watching and fishing. ✨ Day 2 - Port Alice ✍️ Key Stops: - Alice Lake Loop (Eternal Fountain, the Vanishing River and the Devil’s Bath) - The Seawalk - Foggy Mountain Coffee - Walk-out Island ✨ Day 3 - Port Hardy ✍️ Key Stops: - Hardy Bay Seawall - Dakota 576 Plane Crash Trail (moderate 4.2-km out-and-back trail) ⚠️ This is a War Memorial so please respect it and do not touch or climb on the plane. - Bear and whale watching tours - God’s Pocket Marine Provincial Park ✨ Day 4 - Cape Scott Provincial Park ✍️ Key Stops: - Scarlet Ibis Pub in Holberg - San Josef Bay (easy, 8.7 km out-and-back) - Cape Scott Trail (hard, 48.4 km, can be done over 3 days) - North Coast Trail (hard, 44.4 km, can be done over 6 days) ⚠️ The road from Port Hardy to Cape Scott is a 70 km, 2 hour drive down a rough logging road. The ride will be easier in a 4x4 vehicle with high clearance. ⚠️ These communities are small and sensitive so please respect the locals, the wildlife and Leave No Trace when visiting ❤️ #vancouverisland #explorebc #roadtripcanada #adventurecouple
