Nice little lake and very accessible off the Malahat highway. Short walk from the parking lot to the lake, with several beat up/vandalized picnic tables and a coarse sandy beach. Shallow and gradual slope for swimming in the summer. We visited late August and the water was very warm. The trail around the lake is about 2 km, and is not too challenging. It could use some maintenance, though. We tried our luck at fishing - there's a nice spot about a 5-10 minute walk down the trail with some low rocks that go into a deep part of the lake.

The outhouses are disgusting, nearly unusable. They definitely need renewal and cleaning. Overall, a nice little lake but the park needs some maintenance. I'd like to return in the winter, as due to the altitude of the lake it should freeze and would be ideal...

One of my favorite little parks in the Region. A bit off the beaten path, so isn't overcrowded. There's a little beach and canoe launch 100m from the parking lot. A couple of great little picnic spots overlooking the lake and numerous viewpoints along the trail. The trail here is a pretty short and easy loop (around 2.5km). It's well maintained and easy, but not recommended for anyone with mobility issues. The east side of the lake is fine for little ones or those with issues, but the west side is cut into a hill with numerous roots and rocks. Not a goat trail, but might be challenging for some. There's often some canoes and kayaks out. I see folks fishing, but have never seen anyone reel anything in, so can't say whether that's a...

Absolutely gorgeous lake. On a clear, sunny day in spring or summer it's incredibly beautiful, and hard to believe it's just another lake on Vancouver Island! This is one of those lakes you really have to see on the island. I highly recommend checking it out. There's a trail that goes all the way around the lake, so you can walk around or run around (if you run it takes about 20 minutes or so to get around it). It's also a fantastic spot for swimming! This lake really is...

Felt like we had the place to ourselves. What an amazing day topped with amazing views. Thoroughly enjoyed the car ride over here from Victoria. Beautiful scenery the whole way and hardly a cloud in the sky. The walk to the beach was nice through the forested area then opening up to the wildest views. Well worth the trip and definitely recommend a second trip too

It is stunning here. Love the bench overlooking the whole lake. The lake is truly in the shape of spectacles, eh?! In the photograph below there's a gentleman in his element noticing all the teeny tiny magical plants that most would walk right by. Be sure to sniff the fairy slippers they are intoxicating!
