A fun, easy trail suitable for beginner hikers or families. The trail offers stunning panoramic views of the mountains overlooking the highway. Although the rocky portion of the path could be moderately challenging, the trail is relatively well-maintained with lots of diverse flora and fauna.

Rockgarden trail is amazing!! It is a loop with a short intro walk that leads in and out. If you go left, you'll do rocks first, then forest. However, it is a bit more challenging to find the trail. We went right first and enjoyed the forest and then the rocks.

The forest is spectacular here! Moss covers most surfaces and it feels cooler and very lush. This begins to give way to large stones and boulders. Don't forget to look up and out too. Fabulous views of mountaintops peeking through forest.

20-30 minutes. Some challenging spots. Great for...

In terms of hikes, this is more of a walk. It's perfect for families with kids, and it's easy to access off of Highway 1 when you are going west. If you plan on entering the parking lot heading east beware that there's no turning lane and when it's busy it could be a little risky.

According to my Fitbit it was about 1,000 steps through the little loop. Has one reviewer already noted, it's just rocks. But it is kind of neat too take a little side adventure if you're looking to break up...
