The Skeena Catskiing experience is exceptional. Basecamp may be no frills but the terrain is deluxe, powder is deeply plush and staff are genuine. We stayed for 3 nights and skied 3 days and I don’t think I could have skied another run I was so exhausted after 13K vert/day. (Would highly recommend renting a powder specific board from the ski shop in Smithers.) Staying at basecamp meant we were on the first run each morning within 10 minutes of leaving camp in the cat. Guides are diligent about keeping the pace moving and want to get max runs in each day. The guides worked hard to open new terrain on the last day. Each day it snowed and it just got deeper and deeper. As a snowboarder I appreciated the solid fall lines to get out and that most runs ended right on a road so I felt confident I wouldn’t get too far off track if I wanted to explore. The most unexpected experience of the trip was the interaction with the unpretentious Skeena staff. They are obviously integral to keeping the operation running, but their grit, determination and enthusiasm for what they are creating in the B.C. backcountry is inspiring. The chef created tasty and nutritious meals that kept us well fueled. We researched a lot of catski places but chose Skeena because it is the farthest north, reports the coldest temps and moisture is always around.

If you're looking for an authentic, next-level shredding experience, Skeena Cat Skiing is the place to go. The terrain is incredibly fun with a ton of variety, and the guides take you to so many epic spots. The views are absolutely breathtaking—the photos don’t even come close to doing it justice. The guides are fantastic—super knowledgeable, friendly, and just awesome people to ride with. After a full day riding, the main tent area is the perfect spot to chill—it's super comfortable and has a great vibe. The sleeping tents are cozy and warm, making it easy to rest up for the next day's adventure. I can't say enough about how rad and accommodating the entire staff is. They really go above and beyond to make sure you have an unforgettable experience. And the food? Absolutely phenomenal—we ate so well all week! If you're after a true, unforgettable riding adventure, Skeena Cat Skiing is where it's at. Huge thank you to everyone there that made this trip so rad!

Wow! So many ways I want to describe the experience but it really is hard to put into words! The individual tents are comfy, warm, and the addition of a porta-potty for midnight emergencies is wonderful! The main lodge is warm, the atmosphere is amazing, the hot tub is an added bonus, and the food...incredible! The terrain...lifetime memory making! Our guides were knowledgeable, cautious, fun, and we skied amazing powder 3 days in a row! The whole experience from start to finish was exceptional and I can't recommend Skeena enough! If you are on the fence, get off the fence and book ASAP! You won't regret it!

We skied with Skeena in early March 2025 and had an absolutely amazing time. This is a no-frills, skiing-focused operation and the terrain matches it. It's a trek to get there, but that's a part of the adventure and makes it great.

The terrain is awesome - incredible views, variety of high alpine and tree skiing (came in handy for cloudy days as well as sunny days), plenty of diversity so you're not skiing the same thing twice, and the powder was absolutely amazing (light, fluffy, and soft!).

The accommodations are a perfect match as well. The tents have everything you need and nothing you don't. Sauna was awesome, everything was really clean, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. The main lodge building was very relaxing, cozy, and had everything we needed. Great bar and the food was awesome.

The guides were so knowledgeable and friendly that they made everyday amazing. They were very focused on safety and avoiding issues, but still let everyone have a blast skiing and exploring great terrain.

Overall I can't recommend it enough - we will...

AWESOME!!!. What a great trip. Highly recommend if u are into cat skiing. The whole operation was wonderful. Lynn the coordinator is extremely helpful. The guides (Matt & carla) were outstanding, always put in the best spots, made sure we were safe and also made sure we had a blast on the slopes. The terrain was incredible and the range of possibilities in terms of terrain was endless. The huts u stay in were comfortable and warm. The main tent was a hub of activity, the food was delicious, the bar well used, and the staff in general were great. Overall an incredible trip. Best cat skiing experience so far (I have cat skied at 5 places). Not easy to get to but the journey was part of the adventure.

UPDATE: March 2020 - Trip #2. Another fantastic trip with Skeena CatSkiing. The crew at Skeena is top notch, the terrain, the chef (Bailey this time) and the atmosphere are incredible. 5 STARS. It is a special place. The snow plentiful on our trip, it snowed each day/night, the last day they estimated 20 cm fresh, I think...
