West Lake is a picturesque destination located in Prince George, BC, that offers visitors a serene and tranquil retreat amidst the stunning natural beauty of British Columbia. With its pristine waters, lush forests, and abundant wildlife, West Lake is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Upon arrival, I was immediately captivated by the crystal-clear waters of the lake, reflecting the surrounding mountains and creating a breathtaking sight. The well-maintained trails provided easy access to explore the area on foot or by bike, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the scenic wonders that West Lake has to offer. The campground at West Lake was clean and well-organized, offering a variety of campsites suitable for tents, RVs, and trailers. The sites were spacious and private, providing a sense of seclusion while still being conveniently located near amenities such as picnic areas, showers, and washrooms. The campground staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring a pleasant and hassle-free experience for all visitors. One of the highlights of my visit was the abundance of recreational activities available at West Lake. I enjoyed kayaking on the calm waters of the lake, admiring the towering trees and listening to the sounds of nature. Fishing enthusiasts will also be delighted to know that the lake is stocked with various fish species, making it an ideal spot for a peaceful fishing excursion. For those seeking a more leisurely experience, the sandy beach at West Lake provides the perfect setting for relaxation and sunbathing. The shallow waters are safe for swimming, making it a great option for families with children. I spent many hours lounging on the beach, soaking up the sun, and enjoying the serenity of the surroundings. Overall, my experience at West Lake in Prince George, BC, was nothing short of extraordinary. The natural beauty, well-maintained facilities, and abundance of recreational activities make it a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers. Whether you're looking for a peaceful camping trip, an exciting day of fishing, or a relaxing beach getaway, West Lake has something to offer for everyone. I highly recommend visiting this hidden gem and immersing yourself in the awe-inspiring beauty of West Lake.

The drive there was a little difficult as you get closer the road has alot of gravel. The lake itself was nice and it was filled with people on picnic tables and in the water. The tables are nicely put apart so your not too close to others and there is a path you can drive on to get to the other side of the lake. There is also a boat launch there, so there is alot of ski doo's and water boarding. We had a good time there and would recommend showering after as the pollen in the water is a bit much and don't forget swimming shoes the sand is hot. If your looking for clams or sea shells this is the spot for you.

Beautiful lake with huge open area, beach, and picnic tables galore. I can easily see why West Lake is one of the most popular lakes to go to during the summer around Prince George. Although I didn't walk around the lake I've been told there is a dog area and fire pits off to the right of the main area. 10/10 time there though I suspect it gets very busy during the summer months.

Not great at all to take your kids and have them play on a goose poop covered beach area. Seriously, there is nowhere you can step or setup without laying surrounded in poo. It's too bad because it is pretty beautiful of a view and walking trails etc. Great to take your dog off to the side for a swim but be warned about the swimmers itch. My 8yr old got it pretty bad even after rinsing off. Being a provincial park, I'm surprised they don't make an effort to clean all the poop off the beach. Defeats...
