Nothing compares to you - Coastal Black ;-) I was more excited to be here for your pumpkin festival than Raina (who's only 3 yrs old.) LOL. The displays are creative, charming & dance with colour; the property is huge - corn maze labyrinth, farm animals, country music, fire pit etc etc-- there isn't even enough good things to say about this experience & I am 55 years old. I don't want to give it all away but it's definitely worth taking the family ...& festive for couples too. Just brilliant. A must see. Go early, parking is tight.

Went to the tulip festival after the heat wave and it wasn’t the dead tulips that bothered me (the farm compensated my pre bought tickets with wine, flowers, and a food voucher), it was some of the staff’s attitude that bothered me. Very unpleasant while buying stuff from the store, and very selective of who they’re nice to I guess. Disappointed to say the least. Regardless I saw the farm and beauty but would have felt better being treated a little nicer.

Their website and Instagram suggests patrons buy tickets online to "save money", as tickets are $15 at the gate vs $13 online... What they don't tell you is that tickets bought online will be subject to a $1.69 per ticket processing fee which is not advertised until check out - meaning that buying nonrefundable tickets in advance nets savings of just 31 cents. Misleading and manipulative advertising.

I was there on a Thursday with my family. We were camping in the area and I was excited to check the place out as I had heard good things about their sparkling blackberry wine in particular. While driving there I was reassured by a sign at the corner of Endall Road proclaiming that they were open. However, when I got there I saw that this was not the case. It says on the door of the tasting room that they are closed Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Some honey was for sale on the property, so we bought a few jars, and were looking around a bit when a lady (presumably one of the owners) came up to us and asked very rudely what we were doing there. After telling her, she glared at me and said "the winery isn't open on Thursdays" and walked away. If Coastal Black doesn't want customers (?!), they shouldn't falsely advertise that they are open. They also might want to find someone who's a little more cheerful to deal...

We saw the sign for this winery from the highway and were excited to stop in a couple days ago, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing. We weren’t given a proper introduction by the server and only realised once wine was already on the table that the winery specialises exclusively in berry wines, which are much sweeter than our tastes. An explanation beforehand would have been helpful, as we asked for a flight (three wines) assuming we'd receive a menu or introduction of the wines. We ended up taking back 2 out of 3 glasses, and when we mentioned that the wines weren’t what we expected, our server didn’t acknowledge our concerns. Instead, she commented that she was happy to be finishing her shift soon and was glad that she didn't have to walk the few steps to the terrace to collect our glasses. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst service experiences I've ever...

Husband an I were in nanaimo for vacation from mainland and driving by saw sign for coastal black winery around 11am and we get there they were closed till noon but gentlemen came out n said come on in! We think he was the owner/winery maker! N so we asked how much a tasting may be an he just let us try some didn't even say any cost was so nice. We ended up trying lots of wines n ciders n loved most of them! So bought some blackberry table wine n other ciders which were awesome too. Spent more than we were going to. We highly recommend this winery. The table red we tried was perfect for summer time not too dry n heavy easy to drink. Highly recommended this place to anyone passing by. We are ordering to be shipped this time!! Repeat...
