Travel to the small British Columbia mountain town of Tumbler Ridge and stop in to see the dinosaur museum and get information to guide you to Monkman Provincial Park. You can eaily drive on a maintaned gravel road down to Kinuse Falls on the Murray River. Two main observation decks near the parking area afford spectacular views. The lower deck is wheelchair accessible and is a very easy walk from the parking lot. The first upper level viewing area is about a 10 or 15 minute walk up a trail. This is not accessible to wheelchairs. The climb is a little steep but the path is well defined and you don't need to be in top physical condition to make it. It's easy to stop for a breather and enjoy the local plants and forest. New viewing areas are developed but I haven't visited them. They ate all on built and maintained trails from the upper viewing area. These falls are amazingly beautiful and you feel like you have the whole valley to yourself. This is a must-see destination in the northeast of the province. Tumbler Ridge is a picturesque little town with lots of friendly and helpful residents. It's also the base of a World Geopark. It's truly a crown jewel in the midst of the province of...

Kinuseo falls is a very impressive waterfall. The walk to the falls from the parkinglot is very short (under 5min). There are some good photo oportunities, and a couple trails for hiking. From the far side of the parkinglot (opposite the river) one can hike up a steep bank and continue on up the side of the cliff to an observation area high up above the falls. There is a very steep, usually wet unmaintained trail that takes a degree of skill to traverse, but it well worth the venture as it takes you to the base of the falls where the river becomes a large pool. The road in is the biggest draw back to this adventure. It starts out as a reasonably maintained coal plant road, quickly turning to a poorly maintained gravel road with as many potholes as not. To reach the falls driving the posted speed limit (60km) if you could maintain that speed; will tak approximately 45min-1hr though it is...

Very nice falls with paved walkways, fenced off viewing platforms, informational plaques about the formation of the falls and it’s historical significance. There are picnic tables, bathrooms, garbage containers, and maps in the rest area near the parking lot, and for the more adventurous there is a very steep lightly used trail that leads down to the bottom of the falls. It is very steep though, I would not recommend the trip with a lot of gear or with children, and it is slippery near the base of the falls, so be careful not to fall into the river. As always, be sure to be bear aware in the area, and to pick up all garbage when you leave. Due to the altitude, the roads leading to Kinuseo may not be accessible to bikes or small cars until around...

Kinuseo falls are amazing and it is wonderful to be able to see them from the top and even better if you hike down to the river and see them from the bottom. We thought we were the only ones there because the parking lot was empty but when we hiked down to the river there was a riverboat parked right in the middle of all our pictures. We waited over an hour to be able to take a nice picture but the boat never moved. I guess the companies that take tourists on riverboat cruises only care about their customers. Why can't they be considerate of other visitors and park their boat a little downstream so they don't ruin everyone's pictures? It's a very long bumpy drive to see these waterfalls, so you'd think it would be a wilderness experience.
