Pretty short drive accross from the Manning resort / Lightning lake area, you will find yourself on a narrow drive up a fully paved road to this great lookout spot. I saw tent trailers being towed up, but it is tight in places and some of the switchbacks. The lookout has great views to the south and some wildlife friends to keep you company. Obviously you shouldn't feed the birds, but most people can't help it. If you don't mind the dirt road you can keep going to the sub alpine trails at the very top, lots of amazing trail heads start there, but there are picnic areas and short hikes for little feet, or those just looking to stretch their legs.

A great place to visit, with a picturesque 360-degree view. If you have time to go farther from this point, you can also explore the peaceful valley and even enjoy a short hike. I think it would be better if people knew the rule "Don't feed wild animals." There is a sign in front of the parking lot, so it's hard to notice. If BC Parks can put this warning somewhere that visitors can see well, that would be great. Maybe in a few different languages. I saw people feeding the cute squirrels, who were constantly looking for snacks from people and hanging around the parking lot. I also saw that there were some chips and jellies left behind.

Beautiful lookout, must do. Has the view of entire Manning Park, a lot of mountains in the US. It’s a 15 min drive (8kms) uphill from the Manning Park Resort. The gates close at 11 pm, so be wary of that. This is a great spot to drive up at night on a clear day to see stars. It would be super beautiful. Must visit both night and day. Lots of birds and squirrels to look for. They are in their natural habitat and actually don’t feel threatened by our presence. You could get super close to a bird and it would still sit where it was, not bothered by your presence. It was great to see that.

For people with a car this spot offers a panoramic view over Manning Park and the surrounding mountains. There are also usually various squirrels, etc around, but please don't kill them (really!) by offering them food. Enjoy the view then keep going up to Blackwall Peak (it usually doesnt open until July when the last snow melts) where there are some short interpretive trails. Take time to linger and see the marmots and the wildflowers and breathe the clear mountain air. And if you have time (better yet make the time) go for a longer hike on the Heather Trail at least as far as the meadows. Your lungs and legs will be happier for it and your eyes will...
