Tweedsmuir South Provincial Park is a provincial park located in the central west of British Columbia, Canada. Formerly part of Tweedsmuir Provincial Park which was originally 981,000 hectares in size. It was formed from the southern portion of that park, the northern portion being re-designated Tweedsmuir North Provincial Park and Protected Area in order to allow resource extraction in the park. The park is home to Lonesome Lake, famed for homesteader and conservationist Ralph Edwards, who worked to preserve migration habitat there for the trumpeter swan. This park was affected by the Mountain Pine Beetle epidemic in British Columbia.

Words are lost on describing the wonders you can see from the highway alone. If you hike, float, paddle or charter a plane it's unbelievable. The wildlife abounds in the Park as well.

Stunning! Breathtaking! Big trees, rushing rivers, aquamarine kettle lake, commanding mountains, and a sense of quiet and awe.

This is one of the most remote areas tourists can reach by reasonable effort and distance. Some people get nuts when approaching the steep (western, valley facing) part of the Heckman pass (HW 20). The part between Anahim and the summit is a no-brainer. But in fact you do not need a 4WD to pass either way. The park itself is absolutely worth the effort to get there. The only other access is via BC ferries at Bella Coola. This is Grizzly kingdom. A drift on Atnarko river is a great experience, regardless of how many bears you'll see. We enjoyed Jeff's hospitality and experience with Grizzlies at his marvelous Great...

This park is located in the beautiful Bella Coola Valley😍 The only thing I have to say, as a local, when the tourists show up, they tend to forget road rules and laws. You do not stop on the highway. PULL OVER!! Park on the shoulder of the road, then take your picture!! Do not feed our bears!!! Keep them wild as they should be!!! Tweedsmuir is beautifully breathtaking❤ Come...
