Located about 15 minutes off the main highway, we decided to stop in and check out the Avondale Railway Museum. Unfortunately, we discovered that the museum is closed on Mondays. Despite this, we were still able to take a few pictures and stretch our legs.
From what we could see, the museum appears to offer a rich glimpse into Newfoundland's railway history, with restored train cars and engines on display. The exterior exhibits provide a hint of the fascinating stories and artifacts housed within the museum.
Even though we couldn't go inside, the visit was still enjoyable. The surrounding area is charming and peaceful, making it a nice spot for a brief break from driving. We look forward to returning on a day when the museum is open to fully experience all it...

Several weekends in the summer, the Museum has a 30 Minute train ride. Ā Ā Ā Read moreOpen during the summer. You can tour the building, as multiple floors are open for viewing. They have a very small menu available. Outside, they have picture props. And, if running, they have 30 minute train rides down the track and back. There are signs at the end of the road indicating if the train is running. During the train ride, there are wooden characters and forest animal decorations around for kids to try and spot as they ride the train. The train ride is open to all ages.
