Had to pay over 40$ a day in advance at the Jardin des Glaciers booth, and was clearly told the site opens at 9am and that we could walk through it at our leisure. We arrived the next day at 9:10am and the site was completely locked down. No cars in the parking, no employees at the booth, which was locked, a lock at the fence, and a small sign way out of place stating there were only four guided tours per day and that we had to reserve in advance.
We were only there in passing, so a few days later on our way back home, we went back to the Jardin des Glaciers booth, and were refused a refund because it was "our responsibility to be well informed, that it wasn't the student worker's job to tell us when to arrive". This is a scam, avoid this...
Read moreThis site is no longer in commercial exploitation. There's a gate, so inaccessible by car or truck. We did the trek, on a well maintained gravel road. You have to walk 3.7km one way to access the site. There's a few up and down but we were with our 6 yo daughter on her bike and it took about 45min one way, so about an hour and a half round trip.
