I had a fantastic time at Presqu'ile, enjoying the soft sand, shallow clear waters, biking, hiking, and swimming. The highlight was visiting the lighthouse museum, where I learned about the tragic story of the ship Speedy. The ship Speedy was a schooner that tragically sank in 1804 while on a mission to transport the accused killer of a settler, along with a judge, lawyer, and other officials, to Presqu'ile (near present-day Brighton, Ontario) for a trial. During its journey, the Speedy encountered a severe storm and was lost, along with all 20 passengers and crew on board. The wreck of the Speedy has never been found, making it one of the notable maritime tragedies in Canadian history. The museum was filled with so much history, and uncovering the story of the Speedy was both a moving and unexpected surprise.

I'm amazed with the beauty of this provincial park. Lovely place to be for enjoying the sights and sounds of lake ontario waves. Don't forget the drive around the nature which is simply breathtaking. If you're lucky you might also get the opportunity to see our jungle friends too. One can enjoy the both sand and rocky beaches â›±. There are nice trails and broadwalk available. This is one of my favorite provincial park. I would go back again and again.

Takes 5 minutes after entering the Presquile park to reach this lighthouse. You can also find a bunch on parking spots just before lighthouse parking which are just next to the lake and a great place to relax. There are washroom at this site which is not very clean. You might see few snakes while visiting this location, i have seen more snakes here then in the park for some reason. Overall great place to visit. Remember to take your binoculars.
