My wife & I attended, 2014. Enriching, educational, and one gets the sense that this is a new, but sacred collection. Friendly folks, managing, visiting, contributing. Chatted for some time, with one of the artists, whose work is displayed there. More education, and learning of the high level of sophistication present among this proud group of people. How, or why our CANADIAN government had such despicable views of the hosts, whose ancestors welcomed settlers, having made negotiated arrangements for future security of provisions, having witnessed the wanton disrespect of too many settlers. Simply run roughshod over these peoples' lives, culture, languages, etc., making it illegal for them to continue their traditions. The residential school system would "guarantee", it was believed, the loss of language, culture, and recognized citizenship, within the laws of the governments of the day. What despicable conduct - the likes of which we (as members of the UN) claim not to tolerate, whenever it manifests...
