6 of us used Leo to take us from Fair Harbour up to Chescelet Bay. Reading the other one star review I would agree that Leo is a man of few words via email but then again there was not a lot of words needed. Pickup date, time, and cost. He was there on time at the agreed upon price.

On the way up we saw that the weather on our last day may have been a little touch and go so we asked for a pickup. He asked us to send an email request and he would confirm.

Again on the pickup day he showed up a little early because he saw the weather changing and knew that it would help to get us out of there early.

Both trips Leo was a wealth of local knowledge and fun to talk to and swap stories with.

FIND A DIFFERENT OPTION! Terrible pre-trip communication. Neglected to inform us of critical pick up information despite repeated requests. Showed up early on the day of the pick up, and then left the area 30 mins before the agreed upon pick up time. Leo was completely prepared to have left us 2 days paddle from Fair Harbour with no food. Then when we were able to get ahold of him he tried to blame us and extort more money from us to get picked up. Have since heard multiple similar stories; and he should not be allowed to operate such a critical service so irresponsibly. We rented kayaks from Leo for a 10-day trip into the Kyuquot Sound area and also utilized his water taxi service between Fair Harbour and his rental dock in Kyuquot. We had a really great experience both with the transportation and the kayaks (Seaward kayaks in perfect shape) and would certainly choose Leo again. It took just a few emails before the trip to settle on all the details. In speaking with Leo during the water taxi ride it is clear that he's very knowledgable about the area and community, kind and funny, and proud of his business....
