A little treasure, with knowledgeable, enthusiastic guides in character and costume, depicting life in 1732. We learned about cod fishing, gardening and daily life, where children started work at 6 and married at 13. At noon, they serve an authentic and absolutely delicious lunch. All this in a gorgeous seaside setting with an opportunity for several walks and hikes around the island.

We just went for a drive and ended up finding this beautiful place! It wasn't open yet, but you could still walk the trails, we will definitely be back during tourist season for sure!

Not that much to see there, but the story behind it is interesting, you'll see few characters dressed like in the old times that will tell you everything about this place.

This was one of my most enjoyable ventures ever. Went with a friend who is a decendant of Jean Pierre Roma. Tara, our tour guide, was outstanding. Loved the tour of the gardens & learned a lot about why & what was grown. The bread in the brick oven was perfection, lunch was terrific. Thanks to my friend Scott for taking me there and learning about his heritage. I saw how a fishing net was woven, tried printing with an ink quill...need more practice here for sure and Tara showed us the handmade candle wicks used for dipping candles. Roma at Three Rivers is in my top ten site visits. Want a step back in time, beautiful setting, superb staff, relaxing adventure, and the history of Jean Pierre Roma & his part in establishing part of my Island early beginnings.....this is...

My husband and I visited PEI on the first week of July, and this stop was my favourite. We found this small and adorable historic site by chance (the highway signs read "Roma" if you are in PEI's highways near Three Rivers/Montague) and upon stopping, we were warmly greeted by one of the interpreters. Then, we enjoyed a seafood chowder and halibut patty with apple pie (best on the island, seriously! we checked every pie we came across during our stay) and chocolate cake, took the interpreted tour (which was truly interesting), and went off for a walk around the beach area, where one can engage in a treasure hunt (well, I didn't but young and older kids seem enjoy finding 1790s' relics dug by the sea. This was the time I enjoyed the most...

This was our first visit to Roma.. we first tried some of their delicious food.. I chose the grilled cheeze and vegetable soup, and my wife chose the fish cakes and baked beans..this came with homemade bread and molasses...it was awesome.. the bread was baked in the brick oven... the history behind this type of oven was shared with us by the cook who baked the bread. We were given a guided tour by 3 different tour personnel.. they each explained the different occupants' roles in the village. The history was phenomenal. It was a very harsh lifestyle to live..life expectancy was short. If you love history, this would be a place to put on your bucket list..highly recommend it once in a...
