Title: A Perfect Summer Escape: Barnet Marine Park Delights in Burnaby, Vancouver

Rating: ★★★★★

I had the pleasure of visiting Barnet Marine Park in Burnaby, Vancouver on a glorious sunny day, June 24th. This hidden gem proved to be the ideal destination for a day of outdoor fun and relaxation. With its picturesque picnic areas, boating opportunities, enchanting marine life, and excellent amenities, it left an indelible mark on my summer memories.

The park's picnic area was an absolute delight. Nestled amidst lush greenery and overlooking the sparkling waters, it provided a serene and inviting atmosphere. We found ample space to spread out our picnic blanket and enjoy a delicious meal while soaking in the breathtaking natural beauty surrounding us. The well-maintained grounds and well-spaced picnic tables added to the overall comfort of the experience.

One of the highlights of our visit was the chance to go boating on the crystal-clear waters of the park. The rental boats available made it easy for us to embark on a leisurely exploration of the marine park. Whether we chose to paddle at a relaxed pace or pick up the pace for a bit of exercise, the tranquil ambiance and stunning views kept us captivated throughout our boating adventure.

As we paddled along, we were thrilled to spot starfish in the shallow waters. These captivating creatures added a touch of wonder to our excursion, and their presence was a testament to the park's commitment to preserving the marine ecosystem. It was truly a remarkable sight to witness these graceful creatures in their natural habitat.

For those seeking a refreshing swim, Barnet Marine Park did not disappoint. The inviting waters beckoned us to take a dip, and the swimming experience was nothing short of invigorating. The water was clean and pleasantly cool, offering respite from the summer heat. The presence of lifeguards further ensured our safety, allowing us to enjoy the water with peace of mind.

One aspect that impressed me was the park's well-maintained facilities. The availability of showers and washrooms proved to be a convenient amenity, allowing us to freshen up after our time spent outdoors. It was a testament to the park's dedication to ensuring visitors' comfort and overall satisfaction.

Overall, Barnet Marine Park exceeded my expectations and provided a fantastic day out. Its combination of natural beauty, recreational activities, and essential amenities made it a top-notch destination for families, friends, and nature enthusiasts alike. Whether you're looking for a tranquil picnic spot, an exciting boating experience, or the chance to witness marine life up close, this park has it all. I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Barnet Marine Park for an unforgettable summer adventure in...

Simply amazing!! On the first look, due to its views and sandy beach, it felt like a little vacationing get-away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Although, does not have a resort to stay, but it seems like a place where you could spend days and enjoy the sea, bbq, geese, ships and boats coming and going and a very small sandy beach with a protected boundary for a little swim in the hot weather days. Has a little cafe for some snacks, I only tried the vanilla cone icecream for $3.00 - it was OK. Not as yummy as the icecream at Rocky Point, Coquitlam, but still good and enjoyable on a hot day. There are a few parking spots right next to the beach and picnic areas but they are just for those with disabled permits. There are pick and drop areas where one could drop stuff with friends and/or family and then go back up to park in the parking lot. On weekends, the parking is almost always full. But it's nice and easy on weekdays. A board on the entrance says that the barrier gates leading to the park would be closed one hour before the park closes i.e., the park closes at 10.00 p.m. so, they have specified that the gates would be closed at 09.00 p.m. do not know the reason for this, but thought I should mention. There are wheelchair accessible restrooms close to the picnic area too. I found them to be clean and tidy on a very busy Sunday. Overall, the park's cleanliness is also being taken care of well. We really enjoyed our time abs would definitely be coming back...

This is one of my favorite places in all of Burnaby. I've been coming here my whole life and I never get tired of it (except the geese 💩)

It's a perfect venue for barbeques and a wonderful environment for just blissful relaxation.

There's tons of tourists that come from like from Japan, Brazil, China, and even more.

There's even an overpriced concession bar if you are craving an expensive snack!

There's cabbing, fishing, flying kites, and many other activities you can do there (except bonfires I believe).

The only issue I have is that the parking is horrible at times and the parking securities are extremely rude. The parking attendant drove us out to let the other people in when we were trying to park on the handicapped spot. Very rude. We never got the spot and had to go gone.

Nevertheless, I...
