Situated in the monumental 1,355.56-hectare Fish Creek Provincial Park, surrounded by fence and spread into 40-hectare area, Sikome Lake, is a manmade aquatic facility that is popular among Calgarians. The 2.1-meter-deep lake receives its water supply from three fresh water wells. The seasonal lake is open to the public only for a little over two months from June end to the first week of September. It is thronged by thousands of visitors on weekends. Besides the lake with colossal sandy beaches and grassy areas, the beautiful place has a lot more to offer. There are children’s playgrounds and designated picnic areas with firepits, a food outlet, and washrooms. The parking area is unbelievably enormous which is spacious enough to park innumerable number of vehicles, for free. The entry fee of just $10.00 for a family of 2 plus 4 children is as good as nothing compared to the exhilaration that you get at this amazing picnic spot that is full of various aquatic and terrestrial activities for all people, irrespective of their age, gender, or interest. A must visit place for Calgarians in the natural environment of the Fish Creek Provincial Park.

Great “man-made” beach to spend a hot summer day for all ages and especially for the little ones. There are three playgrounds, sand volleyball court, change rooms and shower, concession and beach shop with limited selection of beach supplies. Limited picnic tables as well. There are plenty of green space and trees if you want some solitude. Gets really busy on weekends but it never disappoints. Highly, highly recommend.

I really enjoy this lake its peaceful during weekdays and has great shady spots to hang out , also people complaint about payment its only 5$ and you can get a stamp to come and go as you please for the full day. The one thing i wish that would change is that this lake should only be accessed by residents living near Sikome like parkland , deer run and Queensland as i find it to be a bit busy on weekends and a bit unfair that other communities in the city have own personal lakes that cant be used unless you have a buddy pass hopefully they consider this. Also i think tents should not be aloud since it takes up a huge amount of space for people wanting to go on beach. They really need lockers too since i don't like leaving...

My 5 and 6year old daughters were asked to cover their chests. Like seriously?? They had swimming t-shirts but they were wet and cold so they took them off. If I will take pictures of boys chests in same age and my daughters chests and you’ll find any difference I’ll give you $100. Some “McDonalds” boys has bigger nipples then my 20kg girls… can’t believe where we going as a society. Next time I will just put some stars on theirs nipples. Would that work? And my girls were just completely disappointed asking why they have to and boys are ok to be topples… like we are all kids right? Train your staff! And be more understandable...
