Strengths: Excellent, comprehensive collection that showcases the rich history and cultural heritage of Wellington County Beautifully preserved 19th century stone buildings provide an authentic historical setting Interactive and engaging exhibits bring the past to life, including pioneer life, agricultural traditions, and local industries Knowledgeable and friendly staff who are passionate about sharing the region's stories Well-maintained grounds with scenic walking trails and picnic areas

Areas for Improvement: Limited parking can be a challenge during peak visitation times Some exhibits could use more frequent updating or rotation to maintain freshness Lack of on-site dining options, though the town of Fergus is a short drive away

Overall, the Wellington County Museum and Archives provides an outstanding educational and cultural experience. The museum does an excellent job of preserving and interpreting the region's fascinating history through high-quality exhibits and programming. It's a must-see destination for anyone interested in learning more about Ontario's rural heritage. With a few minor improvements, this museum could solidify its reputation as one of the top historical attractions in...

We came out for a unique /special /one-of-a-kind /art sale / art festival. There are lots of neat features in the main barn, including windows into the cellars and basement. The horse exhibit, and perifery buildings also offer more to explore and learn about. And some if the merchants were even able to set up, out of doors, with power and water being brought out or available to them. Each building seemed capable of handling crowds and affording merchants areas to set up tables and meet with people - and the venue even had areas for families to collect when the rain briefly appeared. As it was around Halloween we were also delighted by the temporary addition of large scale sculptures around the property. We had a good time out, there were food trucks and an atm on site. It was relatively navigable for wheelchairs and mobility aids and strollers, alike, though this site does not seem to be serviced by...

Amazing staff, fabulous displays. We went for the dinosaur exhibit, which was amazing, but we also thoroughly enjoyed the Poor House history & exhibits. I decided to also introduce my grandchildren to the archives in hopes of creating some interest/questions. While sitting at the computers trying to figure out how to do a search, one of the amazing staff came over to help. She quickly captured the children’s interest with the right questions and help. We had an amazing peak through the archives, newspapers older than Canada and so much informative & exciting information which kept my 12 & 10 year old questioning. Thank you to the highly educated professional who not only gave us a brief insight into her degrees, but also had the compassion and knowledge to engage my grandchildren. I wish I could...
