I had a frightening experience at Chelton Provincial Park at closing on Wednesday July 25th that I think needs to be shared with the public as it concerns there safety. A dangerous employee was screaming at and berating visitors to the park at closing time. It was my families first time there. I didn't know that it closed right at 9. We were getting in our car to leave right at 9 and a man was a screaming at us from his car that we were idiots and to read the sign. I had my 7 and 9 year old with us and they were getting scared. We started to leave and as we pulled up to the front entrance he locked the gate before we could leave. We were trying to lift up the chain a few minutes later when he returned and started yelling at us again that he was going to call the police. At that point he dropped the chain. As I drove my car over it he whipped it up against the bottom of my car. I asked him and the lady in his car if he worked for the park and his name. He said he worked for the park but refused to give me his name. I took down his license plate as 50 3NT from PEI. It was a small dark blue sedan. As I was driving away he swerved around me into oncoming traffic with a solid yellow line. This man is dangerous (he was berating and screaming at other people trying to leave before us as well and they were scared as well). I debated on calling the police as he may have done damage to my car. Someone needs to do something immediately or somebody is going to get hurt. My wife and I are never ones to complain and as we are in PEI for only a day I debated on just letting it go and moving on to our next destination but I think this will continue to happen to innocent families trying to enjoy there vacations and...
Read moreSLEEPER BEACH located right off the Confederation Bridge. Visited this park on our way off the Island after a short stay. Were pleasantly surprised by how quiet and beautiful this park was. FREE parking, beach access and use of amenities. Has showers and change rooms that are locally looked after, LOTS of parking and LOTS of sandy spots to plop down for the day. We showed up at 10am and there was no one there. Eventually started to fill up later in the afternoon. Never felt crowded. You can walk for miles in the shallow water or build a sandcastle. While Google says the beach is unsupervised, there were 2 lifeguards on duty. NOTE: Beach does not allow any floaty devices because of strong tides. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as a non-touristy, Cavendish...

If you're going to this beach, recommend you bring along a whole bottle of old school Deep Woods Off for each person you go with to this beach because the welts and raised bug bites are not worth your time going here.
There's also signage indicating that there are no inflatable or flotation devices allowed on the beach. My oldest child was wanting to use their new paddleboard but wasn't...
