For serious golfers this course is NOT a must play. It is a must walk / hike. This property is stunning and has vistas from at least three holes that brilliantly showcase how exceptional this area is (but so does trickle, wildstone, st eugene...) Also, the practice facilities at this course are pretty amazing as well.
From a playing standpiint, this is for duffers who want to drink/party and spend 5+hours (the course tries for 4:40 we were told) trying to hit very narrow fairways surrounded by bunkers, waste areas, and trees only to hit into into greens that belong on a putt putt course (multi tiered with small landing areas) then this is your nirvana.
We waited to tee off on 15 of 18 holes and on at least ten of them we got to the tee box only to discover that the group in front us was still waiting to hit.
Fairways, specifically their playability; don't expect a flat lie...even if you just hit irons off the tee to try to prevent the ball from running on you (many drives, and even some hybrid shots would roll off the fairway despite landing in the middle of the fairway).
I waited two days to post this review to see if the beauty of the location would change my take on the course. Given the other brilliant courses in the area, this course is a miss. And 5 hours to play (speak to any local, 5 hours + is virtually a given for this place), such a waste and so...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHave a bad taste about this course. First let me start of by saying that as far as course goes I and the people I bring with me always enjoy golfing on this course .I'm in a campground that has 70 trailers and it is about one and half hours away .I always bring a group to your course to introduce them to your course as I don't like to golf alone .Good for you and good for me. Now onto my bad taste. Around the first week of July I brought a party of 4 people and it was overcast that day. Although it was overcast we decided to golf .On the second hole of play it started to rain. By the end of second hole it turned into a torrent down pour. At this point we decided to go in as we were drenched and did not want to cause damage to the golf course. This is where my bad taste began. Talked to the GM and was told there would be no Raincheck or Reimbursement of any kind. When paying there was no mention of the rain check policy. So the 260.00 and 3 hours of driving went down the tube. Thought we were doing the club a favour by not damaging the course. Yours Truly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe course itself is very good, but the views will take your breath away. Every hole has its own charm. The winding path that takes you on your journey from one hole to the next is like a roller coaster with its ups and downs and winding turns. Taking you from one players paradise to the next. Surrounded by nature, you often get a glimpse of all the wildlife that calls the area home. Eagles, elk, and squirrels are just a few of the forest creatures you may encounter. After you finish your round, make sure to pop into the Bears Den restaurant in the club house and grab yourself something to eat. Adam has done a magnificent job of having something for everyone, and you won't be disappointed. Whether it's a breakfast sandwich on the go, some fish and chips, or the blackened chicken sandwich, you're sure to find something you'll enjoy. Come for the golf and views stay for the food...
