The Legacy Centre tour begins with a brief introduction from a local tour guide and follows with a self guided tour. There are a number of interactive displays that allow you to listen to traditional Newfoundland stories or historical accounts from the area. Other items of interest include the 2nd largest Union Jack flag (in Canada?), a rooftop fairy garden and lookout, and bookshop. There is also an option to take in a tour of the local archeological dig site that is off-site. There is an extra charge of $6.00 per person for this service.

The Cupids Legacy Centre is a true gem! The interpreters were incredibly knowledgeable and brought the history of the area to life with engaging stories and fascinating details. The exhibits are thoughtfully designed, making the experience both educational and enjoyable. The gift shop is delightful, with a great selection of local crafts, books, and unique souvenirs. The Fairy Garden on the Observation Deck is truly charming. A must-visit for anyone exploring Brigus.

This is an impressive cultural centre that houses a museum about Cupids history (this village is the first English settlement in Canada), a used bookstore, the Cupids Historical Society, a room that was showing an art exhibit when I was visiting, a gift shop, and on the top floor an observation deck. If you are travelling in this part of Newfoundland, visiting this centre is something you should definitely do.

I visited the Centre in 2010 and again today (July 26, 2015). If anything, the Legacy Centre is more interesting now than it was 5 years ago. The staff is knowledgable and friendly, the exhibits are enlightening. I highly recommend it for part of your entertainment while you are in Cupid's. Together with the offerings at Perchance Theatre, it's worth the drive from St. John's and worth including in your plans if you are...
