Chalmers Park — Attraction in Delta

This was the location for 2024 combined Canada Day and Delta Family Day celebrations. I hope they split the 2 events back into 2 separate events again next year. There was NOWHERE to park, the entire subdivision surrounding Burnsview Secondary and the park was completely filled up with cars parked all along residential streets, people either couldn't park in front of or in the driveway of their own home, or they were charging people to park in their driveway. The park has no trees in it so no shade, in 30+ degree heat, there were very few participating tables other than a few kids activities, Cobs bread(charging outrageous prices) or the Lions Club(doing their usual OUTSTANDING job, but have discontinued their legendary Salmon bbq). The only entertainment that was on the stage for time I was there was East Indian/Bollywood type of music, not anything else. Not exactly multicultural on Canada when only one type of entertainment provided. Only reason I went was to see a good friend that was running the Lions BBQ and unless the events are separated next year, I won't be going...

Best park in the area in my opinion! There is something for everyone here and all ages are welcome. The newly built playgrounds have new interesting rides for kids (and adults!) and large open fields for games or just a regular picnic. The sunset is always beautiful here. The safest I have ever felt at a park. You can come here at night and feel relaxed. Nice park, with new play areas being redone. Pickleball courts have been made and people are there almost all the time, so it can be hard to get your own court during the day but usually spots free up. Lots of space to run, and still has tons of space during the Canada Day Firework Ceremony.
